I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the steering wheel heater circuit. I have a 2018 SL that doesn't have a heated steering wheel. But I was curious if the actual heating element and circuitry was included in the steering wheel and could be activated by installing a switch. It occurred to me that Nissan may have built all the steering wheels identical but only connected it if you went and bought the Platinum version. Thanks.

Here's what I found on this:

Steering wheel: SL: 48430M-9GE0A (Aug 2012 - 2020) and 48430-ZQ01A (Aug 2011 - Aug 2012)
Platinum: 48430-9GE1A (Aug 2012 - 2020), 48430-9GE3A Reserve Package (Aug 2012 - 2020), and 48430-ZV51A (Aug 2011 - Aug 2012)

So it looks like there are different steering wheels, the difference most likely being the heating element. I didn't look for the wiring harness difference. No online prices for steering wheels on the website. You put in your zip code and it offers you some available dealerships in your area to contact. Of course, you can try purchasing it elsewhere online.

Heated Steering Wheel Button: 251937Y000 $73.02

So it does look like you'd need a different steering wheel and the button for it at the very least.
