My Armada is at the dealer for the fourth time due to brake problems. A bit of history:
697 miles, resurface rotors.
3998 miles, replace pads and rotors.
9361 miles, replace pads and rotors again, according to the service advisor, we received the brake fix. No work was done on the rear brakes.

Now, at 17,000 miles, we are experiencing brake squeal, and sometimes a groaning noise from the brakes, sort of like when the pads are worn out. The service advisor told my wife that there is a second brake fix (???), and that they do not have parts yet, but they'll try to get them to fix our car.

Tonight, I pulled all the service invoices, and looked at the part numbers used for the two replacements. For the first replacement, they used:
41060-7S027 - Pad Kit - Disc
41005-7S000 - Bolt
40135-7S025 - Boot Kit Front
41014-7S010 - Member Torque
40206-7S000 - Rotor Disc Brake

The second replacement, everything was the same, except the rotor, which was 40206-ZC00A. According to the TSB, the pad kit should have been 41060-ZC025. So, did I get new rotors, but old pads? Maybe this is causing my noises???

Can somebody check their part numbers for me, and see what they got?

Thanks,

Keith

PS - we really love our Armada, but I'm really getting tired of this. These dealer visits are killing us.

PPS - Enterprise gave us a GMC Yukon as a rental. Boy, what a POS!!!!

easy to tell

Sorry, the dealer lied to you. The easiest way to tell if you have the brake fix is the dramatic drop in BRAKE DUST!!!!. There is no "second brake fix". The dealer tried to put you off hoping turning the rotors and putting pads on would help and then "really" fix when they got the parts in. I know its a pain going back to the dealer but what else are you going to get?????? As you are experiencing for yourself, the highly touted GMC is a POS!!!!! I'll look on my service sheet when I get home and post what the part #'s are...

Just got the truck back from the dealer, they claimed that the fix I got back in March has been updated, because it didn't work well enough. This time, they also turned the rear rotors and replaced the rear pads.
Here is what my invoice says:

KITJUDDER2 - Updated Judder Kit
41060-ZC025 - Front Pads
41005-7S000 - Bolt
40206-ZC01A - Rotor Disc Brake
44060-ZC025 - Pad Kit - Disc Br

According to the service advisor, anybody who had the brake fix before April did not get the final fix. Is this guy BS'ing me, or did they just tell me I had the fix back in March to shut me up for a few months?
