Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief - please help!

Hey everyone,

I've been watching the unbelievable footage coming across from New Orleans, Biloxi and Gulfport today. Simply stunning footage..

I'm from southeast Texas and about 4 hours from the devastation- in my hometown there are hundreds (if not thousands) of people holed up in churches, community centers, and our civic centers/amphitheaters with literally no place to go and the clothes on their backs as their only possessions. The scope and aftermath of this disaster is yet to be understood or felt by the rest of the nation. Hundreds of miles of shoreline and houses, casinos, and whole cities were literally wiped off the face of the earth. From what I've seen this is the United States' own "tsunami" with regard to the scope of the damage.
