I took my baby to the dealer for rattles, steering wheel shake on the highway, brake jutter, pulling to the right, wind noise in the back and cabin booming.

I got a call today to pick it up! Wahoo!

Here's what they said.....
remachined rotors
replaced pads
replaced "certain" caliper hardware
rebalanced and rotated tires after road force testings
ordered foam kit for rear wind noise (I have to take it back for installation)
they did not even address the cabin booming or rattles

The service writer seemed to be confused about the rear window wind noise and cabin booming. I has to tell them that they were two seperate issues. I guess I'll have to bring the TSB (again, I brought it yesterday and gave it to the service writer) for them to fix the cabin booming when they install the foam kit for the rear windows.

I guess I will mention the driver door and dash rattles when I get there since they must have overlooked those things. They never even said anything about fixing the rattles when they called me to pick up my car.

By the way, I have to mention that when I told them about the cabin booming issue, the service writer said it may not be cureable. That's when I pulled out the TSB and said, "Are you saying that this isn't cureable?"...no response came back.

Thanks for listening. I just had to tell someone! My wife just says uh huh, uh huh! Useless!!!

Dash

Let me know if they fix your dash rattle, and if so, how. I've had one that pops up occasionally since I bought it and despite my efforts I can't kill it.

Do you have an early build? I thought they fixed the booming for everything manufactured after like June of '04.

Well I knew the day would come. I will be taking my Armada in for the brakes again. I am taking it to a different dealer though.

Last time I took it, they were supposed to take care of:
1. pulling to the right
2. wind noise in the rear windows
3. cabin booming
4. brakes

The pulling to the right was due to the RFV in the tires. They rebalanced and rotated them. They said that's all they can do. The wind noise in the rear windows are worse than when I brought it in. They also scratched my right door where the seal was supposed to be fixed. The cabing booming is a joke. They did two steps (shims and something else), but they said they ran out of the glue (whatever they use...??). They were supposed to call me back when they get more supply. They have never called me to come in, although they did call me for a survey. I let them have it and still have not heard anything from them(no surprise). The brakes are pretty much self explanatory. I hope I get the "permanent" fix this time. The dealer I am taking it to gave me a better feeling on the phone as they were actually listening to me.

I guess we'll just see. I'm crossing my fingers that I at least find a dealership with competent and caring employees. Hopefully, they can fix all my problems too!

I just dropped my baby off at a different dealership for service on the brakes. The service writer told me that they do not have the parts for the "permanent" fix. He stated that they are supposed to receive 4 a week, but only got 2 last week so who knows when they will get the parts. There are 24ish customers ahead of me on the waiting list. So that means that I will not be able to get my "permanent" fix until at least July.....

Brakes

Came across this website by accident...
Well, I have to say that I am glad that I am not the only person having a problem with their Armada. Initially when I took it in, the service mgr insisted that it was the way I was driving the vehicle that was causing the problem on my brakes. I finally switched dealerships and am up to about 6 brake jobs on my '04(purchased at the end of '03). Did I also mention that I am over my 36 mile(or 3 yr) warranty mark and have not paid for any of the work thus far. The last time it was in the dealership I wanted to rent the Infiniti (brother to the Armada), but when I went to pick it up, the rental agency advised me that it was still in the shop for a brake job and was not available.

I got my car back today. From this dealer, I was told that the fixes that the previous dealer was supposed to have done, were not actually taken care of as stated in my paperwork. They have made copies of my records to forward to Nissan to try to ensure they get paid for the warranty work even though the previous dealer was already paid for the repairs. I have a survey sitting on the dining table just waiting for me. LOL!! I will be starting with a brand new pen...I hope it has enough ink.

The dealer did a temp fix on my brakes as they are still waiting for parts for the "permanent" fix. I did meet other Titan/Armada owners that were very frustrated with the brake problems also.

Hopefully all is well from now on...with the exception of the brakes. I want the new rotors!! I guess all dealers are not created equal!! Good luck with your experience with your dealerships!!
