Hello everyone,
I think everyone should check their air cooler lines for the transmission. It is an old TSB. They are located near the passenger side of the radiator, small vertical oil cooling lines down low. On my thanksgiving trip, 7.5 hrs of 85 miles per hour sprung a leak in the connection. I was nearly pissed off until I read the TSB, simple fix, and the local Nissan dealer got the part in ASAP, and no delay in the Holiday trip. He said I only lost a quart of ATF, should be no harm to the tranny.

does anyone have the exact link to this TSB? I looked through the site with the TSB but couldnt find it. I think i have the same issue. i recently saw oil residue in the front passenger side below the radiator and its reddish.

Also another question: i hear a clunk when i shift from reverse to drive on a flat surface. i stop before i shift into drive and it makes that clunk noise. could this be my tranny going?

Normally, you get this clunk when parked on an incline and shifting from park into reverse. I found the cure to be engaging the emergency brake before I shift into park (when I am parking on an incline). Then when I'm ready to roll out I shift into reverse and then disengage the park brake. Presto! NO Clunk! Hope this helps. If you are clunking and you are not parked on an incline, then get your tranny checked out. It is not normal.

I had that same clunk when shifting from park to reverse/drive on a fairly level road and had the dealer look at it and it was normal, they went and replicated the clunk on other Armadas in the dealer lot. The solution to the clunk noise is what earldjjones said in is comments above and that has eliminated the clunk noise, it takes time getting use to setting the parking brake, releasing the brake pedal and shifting into park.

the clunk noise from park to reverse is normal...but the noise im experiencing is when im pulling into a parking spot and i back out to straighten out and then put it back into drive...thats when i hear the clunk...and i make a complete stop before shifting to drive too...i'll just check my fluid levels including my ATF...this day light saving time is killing me though...its dark when i get off of work also
