Has anyone added one of these interior kits to their Armada? I think it would add a lot to the look of the interior. In fact, the Infinity comes with a similar wood grain look. I have two questions/issues:

First, once applied, do these have a profesional look, or is it obvious that it is just a cheap add-on?

Second, I have found a couple different kits on the web, ranging from $150 to $350. I don't mind spending extra $$$, if there is a difference in quality or appearance. Does anyone have any reccomendations, testimonials or warnings?

Thanks,
Greg

In my opinion, that doesn't look very good. :(
Went to the Auto Show this weekend and the wood looks awesome in the Infinity. If this mod can be made to look professional, it will be off the chain. I think I am going to try it. I can always remove it if it sucks.

Now to figure out which kit to buy.....surprised that no one else has done this mod.

.....Sorry for not posting this under Interior Mods where it belongs.

Here is a thread and some photo's on it installed. Don't try to contact the guy though, I was in touch with him early last year and then tried to contact him again and his wife said he had passed away suddenly.

Thanks, the close-up pics really look good to me. I think the company he lists (B&I) might be one of the ones I found, Burtman Industries. They are more expensive, but if the saying "you get what you pay for" means anything, I am going to go with the upscale kit.

I think I am also going to have to move the front license plate like he did.

Dash mod.

This look really good! How does it look up close? Does this company have a brushed alumium like the some factory Armadas I've seen?

What kind of adhesive is used and can it be removed without damaging the original?

Thanks for your feedback.

Let us know what you get and post pictures. I can't quite tell if I like it from the posted pics or not...need to see more. Look forward to hearing what you decided.

My LE came with the black cherywood already installed. It is gray with a wood grain. I like the look of it. My dealer had to trade for the specific one I wanted and the other dealer had it installed as a demo. Whoever did the install did a really nice job. I will try to post a pic.

Pics please? And it would be extremely awesome if you could ask your dealer the name of the manufacturer of the kit. There are 3 or 4 out there. Some use syntheetic material and some use real wood.

I will get some pics this weekend. I can tell you that mine is not real wood. It is a vinyl or polycarbonate material with the color printed on it and then a resin is poured over it to thicken it and give it a deep look. It is called doming in the industry I'm in as a have done a few designs using this process. It is a realativly cheap process with very dramatic results. It looks like the kits are around $200 for 20 something pieces, very good bang for the buck.

I trained eye can see that these are just labels stuck on the dash, but most people don't even notice. Most think it is an expensive option, which is the intent.

Yeah -- I'd like to see this as well. Probably the biggest thing that I'm not sure I like about the pics above...is the stark contrast against the graphite interior of the Armada. Something that is classy but doesn't look out of place with the graphite would be great.

I like it. If I were to add a kit I'd go with the grey like caz's, but I think I would only do the shifter console.

Do they make a kit that goes all the way around and behind the monitor?
