Hello everyone. I purchased a 2011 qx56 with an issue. The issue is that it will start sometimes. When it doesn’t start it will just crank. Sometimes it’ll take 4 attempts to start, 10 attempts, or on the first shot. It is completely random. Old owner gave me a list of previous repairs over the last two years to combat this issue. This includes cam and crank sensors, new cams, new timing set, vvt solenoid, high pressure fuel pump, coils, plugs, injectors, and maf. Last time he brought it back to infiniti they said it was the wiring harness. They put a new ecu in and it continues doing the same issue so they put the old one back in. I personally put a good used ecu and it did the same issues. All relays and fuses plus ipdm have been replaced. I’m completely lost with this thing. When it starts, it runs perfectly fine. I even drove it 5 hours bringing it home without an issue. As long as I don’t turn it off, it will run forever. I never got a code until just recently. Cam position circuit bank 2, bank 1 lean, and p0011. i also had a few u1000 codes to the adaptive cruise module but i think those are unrelated. What baffles me is if it is the wiring harness, why does it run literally perfect if it starts. I checked for power at each cam sensor and crank sensor and I am getting 5V which is perfect. After clearing the codes, nothing came back even after maybe 30 crank no start attempts and about 70 miles of driving since yesterday. Anyone think of anything?

I had a similar issue happen yesterday. I went to start the Armada 2013 and when I turned the key all accessorie lights came on and no crank. I tried it again same result. Third time it fired up. I drove to the O'rilley near by and a young man tested the battery. He said it was not producing enough power. He claimed to have also tested the alternator and starter to. He claimed it was not those but I didn't trust him. As I never saw him hook up his device to the starter or alternator. I left and price shopped batteries. I went to Walmart for the Everstart Platinum. I saved $80 over the Big Auto Parts stores and it has a better Warranty. I have not driven it since swapping the battery. I did notice while driving around pre battery install the charge indicator on my display of my battery was reading much lower than I've ever seen it and it was staying low or just below center mark. Now it is replaced and working perfectly, reading higher than I've ever seen it.
I was researching this issue this morning of the No Start and there are vids on YouTube for the Titan having the issue. Many claim its the starter switch, cheap and easy fix but then others say it worked for a while then returned. Another group of people are claiming ignition relay and once they replaced those it never came back. Others claim starter needed to be replaced. I don't think it's the starter but need to test it. Based on the research I'm leaning towards the relay. But need to research what part they replaced in those posts. Hope this helps.
