I'm not sure how accurate the DTE is. It appears to display the same number when the tank is filled no matter what the average fuel economy is. We just got back from a trip to Colorado towing our travel trailer, where we averaged around 11 mpg, according to the computer. Each time we filled the tank, the DTE said ~380 miles. My math is a bit rusty, but 28 X 11 = 308 miles, not 380.dmarmada04le said:It comes with the tech package on the Armada.
Not sure exactly how it is calculated. Maybe on a rolling average. I've had my DTE vary from 385-400 on a fillup. Are you resetting it after each fillup, maybe that will make a difference.Campfamily said:I'm not sure how accurate the DTE is. That math would only work if you ran out of gas at 308 miles since the tank holds 28 gal. You need to fill your tank up (normally around 24 gal. if your empty light is on) divide that by the miles you drove which would put you around 12 miles to the gal.Campfamily said:I'm not sure how accurate the DTE is. I don't let it get so low that the light comes on. When towing, I fill up at 200 miles.bbeanan said:That math would only work if you ran out of gas at 308 miles since the tank holds 28 gal. When your gas light comes on you still have about 7 gal. left as a buffer
