JBA Headers for Titan fit Mada?

1811 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  92TripleBlack
Looking the other day for headers for my 05 Mada. I noticed they have a set of jba shorties for the titan 5.6L and was figuring they should work just fine. From my understanding, the titan/armada's are the same until you get into the cat back config, am I correct? I was looking to put the jba's on, then do a gibson split dual exhaust to the rear and a volant cold air intake. With that, I figured I would get the most benefit from all the components, and it will set me up for when stillen gets the supercharger all squared away! :D :D All help with fitment of the jba's would be greatly appreciated!

They will fit, but in my opinion the headers are not a good deal. They really aren't much better than the stock manifolds, which are very well made from stainless. It is a very difficult job to install the headers also, and they are not bolt on. You have to welding done and custom parts made.

They will fit great as the front end of the Armada is identical to the Titan. You will also get just as much power improvement as the TItan does....none. Short tube headers stink and never did anything for power improvment. You want to wait for long tubes. Mossy Performance has some for a Grand or so right now. ;)
Actually, the Mossy Performance headers are not being produced yet. They are still working out technical (fault code) issues with the prototype. By the way, the preliminary gain from the Mossy headers was 17WHP, but that wasn't with stock exhaust. So I wouldn't count on more than a 10-15 HP gain with headers alone. You'll need more hardware and more $$ to get noticeable gains.
Last I saw he had a run of them at $1099 but was going to have to raise the price. You are right on the power gains. Maybe they went back to the drawing board. There is a 28 page thread on another board and I just wasn't into reading the entire thing. ;)
Appreciate the heads up! If the stock manifolds are as good as you guys say, then I will just hang on to them and do high flow cats and a dual catback system with a CAI and clal it a day! Few hundred saved is a few hundred saved right!

Appreciate the feedback!

That's the right plan. Also, skip the throttle body spacer. ;)
