Uncorking that VK56 with headers, bpipes and CAI will really wake it up when properly tuned. Best thing of all, those parts can be purchased cheaper and last longer than any replacement manifold out there. Its a win win for the owner saving $$$ and a lot more power without loss of MPG.

Owl,if u don't mind me asking you...how many hp if unleashed?tnx!!

The stock Titan and Armada makes about 265hp at the rear tires stock and guys running the Cajun packages ( headers, bpipes and Uprev) along with a good CAI and muffler can expect numbers of 300-330 HP at the rear tires. Torque numbers go up very nicely also. Good thing about this "Uncorking" is that you can have the power and MPG also. The best thing of all is no more worries about cracked manifolds with long tube headers.

265?so its not 318hp as advertised or printed on the paper?that long tube headers,is that the stock size?coz as much as possible later on if i decide to DIY it i dont like cutting...from 265 to 300-330 is a lot of power...
im just wondring what i have read somwhere in toyota tundra forum that one of the tundra guy w/ 381hp got jealous w/ a titan guy w/ a big sticker of uprev on his truck.,he ask him if they could race and they did and the tundra guy got smoked...330 vs 381 its impossible to think...well...they under stimate us...

That is because the Tundra is not putting down 385 at the "rear tires". You Uprev and put headers on the Titan/Armada and add a good flowing exhaust and CAI and the flywheel(motor) hp jumps from 317 as advertised to close to 400. You will have about 18-20% loss through the drive train is why the numbers are lower. The numbers I stated where off a dyno at the rear tires and not what car manufacture's advertise motor hp.

Night owl: Everything arrived and doing the install next Thursday. I'm running the stock air box with a K & N. The stock box is warped for some reason so it is not completely sealed. (Small gap on the left side where the tabs are)

Will this cause problems down the road?

What will I gain if I get a good CAI?

Not sure it's necessary as it's my wife's daily driver.

What does everyone think?

Sorry you guys have had to wait this long. I have been working on my other site soo much just kinda put this one on the back burner. I hope you guys like the place. I will have it finished very soon.

If you don't want to get an aftermarket cai you can always do the air box mod... see write up either here or on titantalk.com.

I think I'll try the air box mod and see how I like it. If not I may add an MXP or S & B CAI.

I'm not looking for noise or reduced mileage. Extra HP and torque would be ideal.

Funny story: I got the initial UPREV tune dialed in prior to install of cajun parts and my wife was driving the armada as we were leaving church. She had to step on it to pull out into traffic. As doing so we got a nice scratch of the tires as it shifted from 1st to 2nd. She looked at me with a look of concern and all I could do was smile!

I had headers and b pipes installed yesterday and will be gathering datalogs today to really wake her up. (Wish I could have done the install myself, but if didn't trust my skills)

Night owl will appreciate this...the mechanic who installed everything said it was the best aftermarket kit they have ever seen/installed. They said everything bolted right up as I said it would without having to do any additional mods. They asked where I got it from so they could give future customers the option.

I like everything i read ! Cant wait to finish my own setup.

I got my package from Nightowl and Seymour4 a week or two back and still need to get my gaskets before this weekend. On another note , got the wheel wells out and the heat shields went bye bye today along with some PB blaster , total time thus far 1 hr 15 min.

Hijack over , glad to be part of the club.......

***UPDATE***

Everything has been dialed in (Thanks to seymore4) for over a month now. Besides the obvious in performance gains, my MPG have also increased which only makes this upgrade worth the hassle of installing the LT headers.

I live in the heart of NYC and my 04 is my daily driver. I would say 80% of my driving, unfortunately for me, is in stop and go traffic. Especially in the evening when returning home from the hospital or clinic in Long Island.

Prior to installing the JBA LTs and Uprev, I was getting a dismal best of 10-11 mpg. I am now happily seeing 13.3-14.4 numbers.

Charlie1978 what fuel have you been using? Have you continued using like an 87 octane since your install. I've used both 87 and 91 after my tune and I haven't really noticed much for mileage gains. Just curious what everyone else is using? I have had several tunes done which have been great but nothing to really see any increase I pretty much sit at 11 for in town and about 16 hwy. I'm guessing maybe my roof basket might be causing me a few miles per gallon decrease.

It sounds like many of you are doing the same setup that I am looking at. Headers, b pipes and up rev tune, leaving everything else stock for now. Is this the way to go on a budget for now. Want to do the exhaust later on. Will this keep me in inspection?? Wonder how much backlow the cats and muffler will create? I can't wait to get this done!

87 is what I generally fill up with. I did fill up with 93 last time we were in south NJ; actually saw a decrease in mpg because I was enjoying the performance aspect of the 91+ tune.

My mistake sorry about that, thanks for the correction Charlie 1978. Maybe I need to pay attention to what I'm reading. I generally use the 87 just for price as well but where I'm at we only have 87 and 91. The truck seems to run better on the 91 but as far as mileage I don't see much to justify paying the 50 cents more a gallon that it is.

I just finished the wifes a few weeks back and run the 87 octane only. When talking with Joe , he said he normally tunes for 87octane. Filled up after running a full tank on the last of the updated tuning the other day and was right at 15 mpg hand calculated with me putting 90% of those miles on that tank. She seems to get about 2 mpg more when driving it and the majority of my tank was at 80 mph , so i will wait and see what she pulls on it. She brought me a few 17+ tanks before the Stage 1 package whereas i was 13's before with my fat foot. We are all stock ( 05 4x4 w 74k ) other than Cajuns stage 1 package , but will be going with a 2.5" mini lift and taller tires in the next month or two.
The Armada has a great sound when you fire it up and drive off but is still pretty tame in the cab. It flies for what it is now. Watched a guy in a newer F150 hotrod every light on the way home the other night and at about the 10th light pulled over a lane to be side by side knowing he was a go'er. We were loaded 6 deep and i let off at the posted 60 mph limit , he was LENGTHS back. It's a fun driver now for sure.
