K & N filter

It's possible to gain 2-3 HP from just the filter change. I doubt that you will see a increase in mileage. However, I have used the oiled gauze type filters in the past, and am currently using the Volant CAI on my Armada.

I ordered a True Flow filter instead of the k&n. Seems like it is probably the better filter. $29.00 couldn't beat it. I guess we will see.

mmmm might look at getting one of those myself, not sure if I want the extra noise of a CAI. The Nissan airfilter cost $48 here in Sunny Saudi, so it seems like a worth while mod.

Yes, about 2-3 hp gain as scr38 notes. It will last a lifetime. You can get about a 10 horse gain with a full cone type intake, but they are more noisy than I like.

Picked up the True Flow today and dropped it in. We all know how the throttle on the big boy is a bit touchy. Well it seemed as though it had lost that recently. Now I am the first person to be skeptical about any felt added performance from something like this. However, It did seem as though a little pep was put back in the step of the urban assualt vehicle. Granted the old paper filter was dirty. I have a small road trip this weekend so I will track the mpg and see if their is any change in that department. I don't expect their to be but people with other vehicles have claimed an increase. $44.00 out the door for the filter and cleaning kit.
