My 2011 Platinum has developed an annoying problem. Driving down the road I'll get notifications (both console and dash) that my lift gate is open. No visible issues that I can see.

Since the message pops up on my stereo/nav screen, I can see this becoming more of a PIA if I'm using navigation.

Thoughts?

I used to get those alerts every once in a while while driving as well. Now my 04 Infiniti QX56 sets the security alarm when it’s cold out and it’s warning me that the lift gate is open. Not sure how to fix the problem either

I ended up spraying WD40 into both sides of the latching mechanism. (on the advice of my mechanic) So far so good.
