This isn't a problem, but I thought I'd post the other side of the story.
This weekend we had a good layer of black ice on the roads in the morning. Coming around a corner I found three vehicles in separate single vehicle accidents. Two spun and impacted telephone polls (F-150 and a Saturn) and the third spun across the road just in front of me (Mustang).
I slowed prior to the corner and when I saw the Mustang spin out I was fairly gentle on the brakes. ABS engaged, I could feel a little bit of wiggle in the back end, but came to a nice uneventful stop.
Lessons learned:
- I always keep the truck in AUTO because you never know when you'll need add'l traction;
- ABS worked just fine - minor vibration to let me know it was working.
