Hello all! I am new to this forum and just posted in the new members section. I have read a lot about the question I am gonna ask, but still could use some help. I am looking for a M&D dealer/installer in the Phoenix area. I am looking for a 9" overhead monitor and DVD system for my new 2006 Armada. I am handy, but not confident enought to order one online and install it myself. I called most of the car/audio companies in the Phoenix area and nobody sells the M&D systems. A few installers said I could order it myself and they would install. So my next question is what is a fair installation price? I found different prices for purchasing the system and will continue to do more research on that part. Any help would be appreciated. I know it is a holiday weekend and most of you are probably on a road trip in your Armada's and can't get back to me for a few days! But hubby is working, so I am hanging with the kids. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

Welcome Peach! This site and the members are awesome. It's very informative and friendly. I believe you can order them straight from their website. I have myron and davis 9" flip down and two 7" headrest screens. I've been told that it's the top of the line as far as video and so I was gullible enough to get it installed. It cost me $2500 here in san diego (where everything is overpriced) installed. This includes the tv tuner, video game port, and 2 wireless headsets. I'm illiterate when it comes to wiring and couldn't wait for my husband to get it installed. It's well worth it however. Keeps my son quiet during long trips. PRICELESS!!:D

Welcome to the club Peach! :hi:

I am looking for a 9" Myron & Davis monitor and dvd player as well for my 06 Armada. I've checked out a few places online and the cheapest i've found so far for the monitor is $589.79. Here is the link:

Let me know if you decide to order from the web, and what the lowest prices you find for the monitor and dvd player. I have a 15 month old, so a dvd player is almost a requirement!

Hi peach and welcome to the club! I purchased a whole set from someone on this site...he's a professional installer named DanDan. I think that he would still sell the whole system to you. You get the M&D monitor, DVD player, amp, 2 better than stock wireless headphones. Got it all for $722.00 plus shipping. He said that an installer will charge anywhere from $200.-$400. Hope this helps.

DanDan is a good first try. Check E-bay for the monitor. Here is one, but there is another seller who shows up regularly selling it for less than $500.

Thank you MBS. I live in Arrowhead and checked with Best Buy about a month ago with no luck - so I am glad they are now stocking M&D stuff. I'll call them back today!

Mamas Armada & llajumpvid- Thanks, I also saw where DanDan sells the system. And I searched ebay and found bits and pieces. Was hoping to go with one stop shopping and install but will consider ordering.

Thanks everyone!! Good info.

Ahh Galaktified - I just can't part with that kind of money. It sounds nice with 3 screens though. I am gonna go for just the drop down. Got to get it in before vacation in two weeks. Where? To San Diego of course!! Here come the Zonies!!

I got your email and will wait for your response. If you want to save more money you can go with the 7.8 inch screen. Let me know. If your going on vacation soon we will have to do something quickly.

Thanks all. I am in email contact with DanDan and we are gonna see what we can do. I prefer the 9" overhead because kids in the back can see better. Plus I like the bigger screen. I had the kids climb in yesterday and sit in different seats to try the views with me taping comics the exact size to the back of the headrests (7.8") and to the drop down (9") with the unanimous vote being the overhead. I might down the road add the headrest ones - but right now want to save that $$ for perks on our vaction - like say, margaritas and room service??!!

I thank all of you for your help and I'll post details when all is done.

I almost forgot. I contacted Best Buy in my neighborhood yesterday after MBS posted that they now carry Myron & Davis. They told me that they carry M&D, but don't actually have the headrest system in stock, but that it has to be ordered. I asked them if they can order the headrests why not the overhead? They said they just can't. Beats me why they can't. FYI

Has someone found a good alternative to the myron and davis flip down monitor
If you got any nearby, check your local installer for some other ideas. I have found there are a lot of info you can get from them without actually having them do the work. Unless you want them to.

You can fit a 7" headrest monitor in the factory pocket, it requires some cutting.

Headrest DVD's

I can get you the Headrest DVD's also. I sell quite a few, mosty for Cadillac. Most places will not stock them as they are pretty expensive and M&D wants it that way. I order them overnight and my dead cost is $1209 for the Dual DVD set up. They are nice but they do have draw backs. You cannot interface them for the audio and they have no seperate input or outputs. You can input on the front of the unit but wires do hang down. They are extremely easy to install but they are not expandable at all. I have put quite a few in and have never had a return which is good! There are too many colors and variety so that is why I do not stock them either. If any of you are interested just let me know. They do sell them with only one DVD in one of the headrests but there is no real cost savings.
