Hello Everyone

I just bought a beautiful 2005 Armada this weekend but now I am having total buyers regret!!! I love the car but it was either that or a suburban. Now I am thinking I should have gone with the suburban for thie extra space in the back. I just need someone to tell me I made the right decision!!! I know it is crazy but I am sure I am not the only person who thinks like this...Any adivice???

THank you

Well first just look at the trucks from outside - the suburban is a big ole block of steel and the Armada is stylish! Inside, the suburban looks like a work truck with it's cheap plastic everywhere - there is nothing appealing about the interior except possibly the room in the back, the Armada's interior is sleek and stylish and has lots of bells and whistles that Chevy does not offer (or if they do they'll cost you a bundle).

As far as comfort - the Armada far outweighs the Suburban. When I test drove the Suburban I felt like I was getting beat to death and the Armada drives nice & tight and rides smooth especially for being so big.

As far as safety goes - I think the Armada has the Suburban beat too with the rollover sensors, curtain air bags, side air bags, etc. that come standard. I can tell you that if I was in an accident I'd rather be in an Armada over a Suburban!

Plus, Financially a much better decision

Don't be fooled by the huge GM discounts. Their vehicles were overpriced and not worth it. That's why GM couldn't sell them to begin with. Had the buying market valued GM vehicles, there'd be no reason to offer huge discounts.

At resale / trade in time, Nissan (and most foreign) nameplates hold their value much better than does GM.

So, you made a very good financial decision (on a vehicle that, IMHO, is far better looking, much more comfortable, etc.). And read the reviews, the "experts" rate it much better.

And lastly, you own the Armada. It's a done deal. Going back to GM will cost you dearly!

You made the right decision, no question about it. My sister-in-law bought a Suburban, our Armada is so much better!!!! More power, more fun to drive, nicer interior, the list goes on and on.

Yupp, you made the right choice. The suburban is a big POS, look at its design.....it hasn't changed much in the last 10 years!!!

I was in-between an escalade EXT and an Armada and ended up going with the Armada. The whole GM line has the nastiest cheap plastic interior, and that was me comparing the top of the line Escalade, let alone the suburban.

And as everyone on this board has heard me say over and over....an American made SUV will only last to about 60K-75K mile or even sooner before it start falling apart. I have heard this over and over from mechanics and also witness it all the time. Like my friends brand new 03 Escalade, he has 34K miles on it and just recently had to replace the engine because a gasket blew in the radiator and all the tranny fluid got sucked from the cooler into the engine block.....tranny went dry and seized and his block and all lines had to be replaced or taken apart and flushed.

And the funny thing about the whole situation is that the dealer was trying to give him the run around at first saying they don't know if it's covered or not (ON A BRAND NEW ESCALADE!!!). Anyway, the moral of the story is be happy that you own the best SUV out on the market today when it comes to reliability, style, power, and towing capacity. :D

I had a 99 suburban. I had a 03 Tahoe Z71. The Armada is at least twice as good. And the Suburban does not have that much more room.

The Armada is the perfect size!

Plenty of room

Not sure what you are loading in the truck, but from my experience. I have NEVER been wanting for more space. With third seat up I've always been able to get Nana's luggage (lots of it) in the back when she comes to visit. With 3rd row down. I can put a lawn mower and other property management and pool care supplies back there without removing my two car seats. Now for the real fun. Put down the 2nd row and I've put in a dinnette set with four chairs two end tables and an extra leaf for the table. Another trip I put in two sets of twin mattresses box springs with rails and 3 barstools (two disassembled, 1 assembled), and don't forget my two car seats (to the tune of "1st day of Christmas"). If it's space you are concerned about, Don't be. Just enjoy the best truck and "stuff hauler" on the road.

You definately made the right choice. I had a 2000 suburban with the 1500 package. I never towed or pulled anything other than my fat a** and went through 2 transmitions and one rebuild. I was lucky to have purchased the extended warrany for another $2100. I sure payed off. The frist tranny was replaced before 50k and so on and so forth. There were a few other problems but the others never left me in the middle of death valley. Now I did have the dealer service the truck regularly and including a tranny oil and filter change at 27k miles. I also payed way more for it than my LE 4x4 with nav. Definately the right choice! Just to confirm, we are buying a 2006 LE 4x4 with nav next month in the new blue color.

Armada blows away the Suburban. I wouldn't trade it for the Escalade ESV.
The Suburban gives you 6" extra in back. It also gives you blowing head gaskets, trans problems, valve tap, and a host of other horrible issues. Slower, less comfortable, etc. And don't forget a new version will be out in a year or two, so if you got one now, watch your resale value fall faster than a levy in New Orleans. Its a POS next to the Nissan. And I'm a Chevy guy. (Note vette in sig)
