New Armada Owner =)

Hi guys,

I just got a 2006 SE Armada. I am eager to start making some interior and exterior mods but for right now I first like to upgrade my stock head lights (low beam) with some HID. I have several options and would like your input. Basically I have narrowed it down between the JDM Kit or Xentronic Kit and as regards to the color temperature I am undecided between the 6000K or 8000K. So what are your opinions and advice about the both JDM kit and Xentronic Kit and between 6000K and 8000K colors. Also if I get the JDM I plan to get them through EBAY. Is this safe? Last questions is do any of you know the size I need for my 2006 low beam lights?

I have no input on the headlights since I have done nothing to mine yet. However, glad you finally made your purchase since you been checking us out for a couple of weeks.

You noticed... he he.. I really love this forum. It has been very helpful and informative. It actuall helped me decide when it came to buying our Armada. We were first looking at the new 2007 Tahoe until we saw and test drove the Armada. Man we were blown away with the looks and the performance and now I can't wait to start making several mod upgrades. As you know HID will be the first to come.

By the way your BlakSpyda is awesome. I been checking out your wheels and grill. They will come next on my mod list.

Welcome to the club. Yeah I was hooked on the performance of the Armada which I bought over 2 yrs ago and now it's finally paid off and it's time to fix her up. Anyways I neither have any input on the HID lights. I think JDM would be good considered they always put out some good stuff.

Welcome to the club! In regards to the HIDs, I have not upgraded to that option myself. I am waiting to get the after market projector headlamps first, then pruchase the HID kit . The projectors accept a different bulb than stock, but if you have no plans to get the after market headlamps, the HIDs would be a nice addition.

I believe the bulb size is 9006 for the low beams, and 9007 for high beams

Welcome. I have the JDM and love it. I have 6000k for lows (9006) and wish I got the 4300k. The lower the number, the more light. The 6000k has a slight blue tint. The 8000k is almost purple. The 4300k is what is standard in Infiniti, BMW, Merc, etc. However, I am still very happy and complimented them with silverstars for the other locations. Works great. See my sig for details. :hi:

Thank you all for your inputs. I decided on the JDM HID 6000K. Right now I am just waiting to have them shipped. Once I have them installed, I'll post some pictures of my 2006 Smoke SE Armada with the new HID lights.

Hey triple where did you get your kit from. I know you got the 6000k, I am interested in the 4300k. where is everyone getting their JDM kits at Was it pretty easy to install.
