Hey folks. I posted a couple of times in GD already, about wheels. But I'd like to formally introduce myself. I'm Kowboy from the Motor City - Detroit, so as u might suspect, I've been a fan of the Big Three automakers since forever. -Still am. With that being said, i also would never discriminate against any other manufacturer if they build a vehicle that suits my needs - which brings me to the Armada.

Right now i drive a silverado ss, and it is a GREAT truck. But.....I have a wife and a kid, and one on the way, so an ext. cab pickup is not gonna cut it. I've always been impressed with the reports of the power of the Armada, and to me that's a big selling point. With the interior being as spacious as it is, I think the Armada is a no-brainer. I mean seriously, how do they get that big bastard to move like that? :)

I originally was gonna buy a 2007 tahoe, but i just dont know. There are like billions of 2000-2006 tahoe/yukon/denali/escalade/avalanches on the road here in the "D" - big surprise, huh? I think I want something a little more exclusive. I see maybe one or two qx56's or armada's like every one to two weeks here in the Metro area, (and i drive locally for a living).

I stated in another thread that I've got 24's on my truck now, and being able to put those on my new truck was a big plus, almost a prerequisite! While I think that the appeal of an '07 tahoe would be more initially than an armada, i'd bet in a year, they'll be just as common as the old body-style. I really don't like the style of the expedition or the durango, the seqouia looks gay, and i cant afford a range rover.lol!

I'd be smart to wait another month for the auto show here to see if there's something i'm missing. I stay on top of what cars are coming out, and i can't think of anything else that is just as Fast, Roomy, Stylish(subjective), and reliable(I've read about the brake issues among other possible problems, but come on, anything mechanical WILL have problems) as the armada - FOR THE PRICE.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but that's just me I guess. U guys have a nice liitle site with valuable info., and maybe if/when i get my 'mada, i can contribute some stuff to the board. Thanx

Plenty of comparison talk here. You'll find the early 2004s like all new vehicles had their share of problems but none were major and Nissan has addressed them. Compared to the Big 3, much less and less major.
On the good side, it is the fastest, best handling, most cabin room, and is very reliable. The brake issue was a badly designed rotor, which has been replaced with a new design in current models and under warranty on old ones. I haven't seen any other repeatable mechanical problems, unlike valve tap, trans problems, blowing head gaskets, etc. you find on the GMs. BTW, I'm not biased against the big 3. My screen name reflects my Vette. ;) Welcome!
