New Member - 2006 LE (Saudi Armada Blog)

Hi,

I'm a new member of Club Armada and I'm just about to take delivery of a 2006 LE in Galaxy Black.

My last car was a Range Rover but we needed something bigger so I made an order for the QX56 - but after reading a lot of the discussions here I changed my mind. I enjoy the posts about the various modifcations that have happened and hope to carry out a few myself.

By the way: I'm all the way over in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. So I sometimes have a problem getting deliveries of accessories! I tried ordering Zaino and Liqud Glass but no go..

I'll be sure to post some pics when I get the beast! I sense the force is strong with this one!

Hi there,

I am in Riyadh Saudi Arabia myself. When you read some of the posts you will notice there are some differencies between the USA and Middle East spec Armadas. No Bose, no towing package, no proper 4 x 4 package (skid plates etc missing), I have an LE but reading the specs its more like an SE with leather and a roof (oh and power rear door and windows).

Had mine Ziebarted (window tint, Diamond gloss, invisi shield) to try and combat the all year round sunshine :coolsun:

The lack of being able to select the exact options you need sucks. I'm going to have to put in an aftermarket DVD system.

First job is the window tints. Last time I had V-Kool which worked well. They did my Range Rover for SR1750 ($465). I was expecting a lot more for the Mada. How much for the Zeibart tints?

I liked the equipment on the QX56 but just thought the price difference wasnt worth it. I finalised my order today and I stopped for 5 mins to make sure I'm not going to regret not getting the QX but decided I can use the money for something else.

Maybe a boat - if I can convince my wife!!

All windows including front screen was SR2450 before discount, I didn't bother with the front as I use a Garmin GPS (blocks signal). All the other windows were SR 1650 before discount. I Paid SR 3500 for the Diamond gloss / Gold service, window tinting and invisi shield (after discount). I had my Yukon done when I bought it and it still looked like new after nearly 5 years.

On the DVD front I bought 2 Nextbase DVD players from SACO for SR 1099 each. These are nifty 7" screen players with car mounts, carry bags, batteries etc. They play absolutely everything MP3, WMA, VCD, copy DVD's and Kodak photo discs. They also have a FM modulator built in so that you can play the sound through the truck stereo.

New 2006 Mada

I took receipt of my new 2006 Mada Smoke LE with Tech package+ Sirius and DVD on Saturday. Love the ride and the kids love the DVD. The 2006 interior is very flexible with the 60/40 third row seat.

We have 4 kids and a big boat to tow so our choices were limited. Nissan has a winner with this truck. lets hope the Brake challenges were limited to the 2004 and 2005 models

Thanks for the tip about the DVD player from SACO.

I went down there tonight and they have 20% off everything. Its only SR 879 now!

The unit looks perfect for my needs. I thought I'd have to get the player wired up and risk some local amateur make a mess of things. Just switch on and play. Thanks.

I'm looking into the window tinting now. I want to compare some of companies and see...

I'm wondering how did you get an Armada 2006 delivered to you in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. I can not wait to get my hands on one. I called the only and the one horrible dealer in Saudi Arabia last night to find out that it will be available after 2 months.
So Please tell me how did arrange to get one delivered to you.

I live in Jeddah but my 2006 is from the dealer in Khobar as my company buys their cars from that dealer. I assume because the one in Jeddah is so useless. In a strange twist I was once offered the job of GM Customer Care for Nissan Saudi but turned it down. Looks like I should have taken it to sort those guys out!

The Armada is very popular and every shipment they get is sold out. Maybe all of their 2006 are sold out now and they're waiting for a new delivery. Still, I'd call the dealer in another city to check though.

One of my colleagues had his 2005 SE taken in for a service and one of service guys smoked in his car and generally made a mess.

If anyone does that in my car then... :machinegu

You know Darth the dealer in Alkhober (Al-Jabr ) sells Nissan cars through Alhamrani who is Nissan sole distributor in Saudi Arabia.
Very strange Nissan should pass over their sponsorship to this dealer.

It seems they are doing a better job.

It is bad for us customers who appreciate Nissan that you turned the job down. I was in their Jeddah showroom a month ago to take a close look at the Armada. Five other customers were circling the beast and they were asking dump questions like "is it stronger than the Yukon? or is it roomy like the Expedition?".:chainsaw:
Those people did not know the least fact about the Armada and the sales people there did not know it too. :clueless:
Too bad that people here don't know the Armada has beaten all other SUV's in its class. At least to me it has and it is not a personnel preference it is a fact.

Anyway I'll give them a call tomorrow and find out about the price and their lease program.

Let me ask you this if you don't mind how much did it cost you? Also, if you leased it what is the paper work especially you live in Jeddah.

I'm far away from them too I live in Yanbu. My plan is to lease a silver LE 4*4.

My Armada came through the dealer in Dammam, which is not the same dealer as here in Riyadh. The dodgy gits in the main dealers sell to the souqs, hence no Armads in the main dealer, who then hike the price 7 to 10,000 SR. I bought mine from the souq and one of the Nissan servce centers told me I have no warranty and would have to pay for the first service. I went accross the road, Al Hamrani Infinity showroon, and had my car serviced and sorted out no problem.

The other showroom had what the salesman told me were 06 models, but they are different to the ones in the USA if in fact they are 06's. they had no Auto A/C, no power fold mirrors and no split third row seat. The only difference I could see was the aluminium dash panels were dimpled (like a golf ball) and not smooth like mine.

hmmm... now i'm worried they're going to deliver a false 2006 model to me! I'm going to check in the morning.

About the leasing: I looked at buying it on monthly installments but that takes the total cost over SR 193,000. Then on top of that I have servicing and maintenance costs etc. So you're easily looking at spending SR200,000+

Actually our company use a outside leasing company and they quoted me SR3600 for the LE 4x4. That includes all servicing, maintenance and insurance. Also, they pick up and drop off my car for serving and give me a replacement car if there are are problems. Hassle free driving for SR 173,000.

Ok, I lose out on owning the car at the end but overall I'm happy.

The Main dealer here quoted 140,000 cash, but they didn't have any in stock when I wanted to buy. I went to the nasem souq and they wanted between 146 to 149,000. Seems the main dealers have off loaded their stock to the souq, I mangaged to get mine for 145,500 cash. Insurance is 3.5%of agreed value and maintenance seems pretty cheap. most expensive service on list was around 1,350 Sr for 80,000 Km when they change plugs and drive belt, price includes all oils and filters etc.

I paid cash as we go to Bahrain every month or so plus Dubai and Oman about once a year (oh and now Qatar for Moto GP and WSBK bike racing)). If the car is not in your name its a ball ache to get it out of Saudi.

Hope you have luck with the new truck, but don't believe anyone until its in your hand. As there are no major changes from 05 to 06 it wouldn't be that much of a disaster. Oh if you have any mechanical knowledge check out the truck yourself when it arrives. They don't seem to bother with a PDI here, apart from the other problems I had it was delivered with incorrect tyre pressures, some loose wheel nuts and no fluid in the washer bottle.

Welcome to club armada , im from kuwait i have the 2005 armada LE , im from kuwaitif you looking for some change in you car take look what i did to my car , i have been add Kenwood 7025 ,add 7.8 inch , spolier for the rear , add cloure the steps and roof with same cloure of the car change the tail light with infiniti QX tint the class 28, i add still in the from grill , and about the old casttei have add it in the cansol in the midel and the cover of the cansol i have been cover it with leather , just take look and what do you say ...

I went to the dealer here in Yanbu and I found a good sale person who knows about Armada. He told me it will arrive in a month and he can reserve one with a deposit.
The price will be around 143,000 SR cash. For monthly installment I have to pay 35,000 SR in advance + 2900 for 4 years and the total is 176,000 SR.

Leasing is out of the question because I can not go out of the country which is very limited to me.
I decided that this is the best deal for me since buying without seeing the truck is like buying Fish in the sea.
And as Tmation said do not trust any one here and good luck with your truck and please keep us updated with pix when it arrives.

Wow. EZ to take things for granted here. We like to complain about car dealerships, but sounds like a walk in the park compared to SA.

Thats cheaper than they quoted me. Thats good.

Now I just spoke to them today and they said they dont have a black one available after all. They got mixed up with a 2005 model that was in black. :duh: Now they're waiting for a new shipment to come. If I dont want to wait then I'll have to take another color. I'll decide by next Sunday hopefully.

Hey COOL ARMADA: I like the mods. Some of the other guys had been talking about fitting QX led lights. Where did u get the parts from?

Hello Darth Armada ,,, i have been orderthe tail light from www.everythingnissan.com its cost for each 93$ but the size infiniti shorter than the armada becase the revorse light so i havebeen cover it with small pice of fiber glass and panited as you can see in the pic under the taillight ...

I love the in dash kenwood and the overhead console monitor.
I'd like to know what kind of of overhead monitor you have. Also, do all the steering weel buttons work. And finally , how did you integrate this set all together and the cost for all + installation please. Because once I get my Armada in the exact same color as yours this will be my first upgrade.
