new member with exhaust question

Hi everybody, Just want to introduce myself as a new member. As my handle illustrates, I am one of those guys who in the course of my mid life crisis just went out an plunked $40+K for a new 2005, LE, 4WD, DVD, NAV, and a host of other gadgets on a SUV that I am still trying to figure out. Got tired of trying to drive my F350 Crew Cab diesel dually to the snow in order to get my passion for snow boarding in only to end up broke down or stuck. So I got this new LE to hopefully fit my lifestyle better. I was wondering what experience ya'll have had regarding exhaust systems. Some of the dealer out here will put on Flow Masters, Bullits, or Magna Flows in place of stock muffler along with the chrome zoomie end tips. My concern though is the interior noise for the Armada when ya do that. Is there a lot of interior sound resonace at freeway speed that would drive your passengers crazy? Also is it worth the 300 bucks in terms of added performance/gas mileage gains. I would appreciate any info that you Armada veterans might have done this.

Welcome. You'll be very happy with your new ride when you take it up to the mountains. I too love to snowboard and like you, purchased this vehicle as part of my lifestyle.

Regarding performance, check out the "Performance Mods" section. You can have all your questions addressed there as you peruse through that section.
Welcome. Gibson seems to be the exhaust of choice so far for the Armada. You get some upper gains and loose some lower torque with any exhaust. Overall a slight gain, and I'm not sure if you gain any mileage. Exhaust works really only on cars that have restrictive exhausts. The motor is an air pump. Freeing up the most restrictive portion will gain performance. Freeing up anything else usually results in nothing or loss. Camaros for example benefitted greatly from exhuast and intake mods as GM added restrictive parts on purpose because they had vette motors and they wanted to keep the vette on top with regards to performance. The exhausts for the Armada are relatively inexpensive (Most vette ones are a grand) and they give you nice sound and looks. Some are even dual exhuasts. Again, scan with a search for exhaust. You will find comments on all of them. I'm using mine for a ski trip to Killington in December. ;)

Socal in the house......

Snowboaders riding in Big Bear ......
SO Cal in the house. We should get a meet going and...eat some pho or chicken or something. :hi:
Another (sorta) SoCal... maybe MidCal. I had the same thought about the snow. Didn't go on a spring trip last year 'cause my minivan wouldn't have made it.
What cleaner do you use to remove SoCal stains from your house? ;)
San Diego's in the house!!

North County?

It is always a good time for Pho! I think we could get something going at Mossy Nissan in Oceanside...Let me know...I'll talk to Greg Vogel.
