Symptom - the car (2012 QX56, 105k Miles) was leaning excessively while making turns, also there was a clunk on the right side while hitting large pot holes.
Control arms bushings, links, etc appeared to be in OK condition, so decided to change the shocks.
Searching the web wasn’t really fruitful. There was no reasonable aftermarket option for QX (current platform Y62). After some research, decided to give a try to ride adjustable bilsteins for Titan ($200 for two on Amazon).
Installed them today and they fit! The bilsteins at medium setting (+1.5 inches) were about the same height as OEM shocks. The only modification needed was to add a couple of washers since the replacement shock’s bottom bushing was ~5mm narrower vs the original. The quality of ride has improved significantly. The front feels more firm and stable, going through potholes is very smooth ( the clunk has gone). Overall, I am satisfied with the money spend. See pictures.
