Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had their windshield replaced in the San Francisco Bay Area East Bay. My wife was driving too close to a gravel truck in Livermore and you know the rest. My windshield got a nick and a while later spider webbed. I was just wondering if they replaced it with the same manufacturer glass. Or at least the same quality. This has never happened to be since I had been driving. Something very new. Any input would be great. Thanks

I'm not in the Bay area, but this happened to me and I called American Glass. That SAME day they came to my work and 1 hour later the glass was replaced. No leaks, no quality problems. I had windsield coverage on my insurance, so it didn't cost me a dime.

Windshield coverage

I've had my windshield replaced. The key is like Ken said to have the windshield coverage on your insurance. It only cost about $60 a year and is well worth it. When you make a claim it doesnt go against your insurance (like an accident or other claim would). Awindhield company comes to wherever is convenient for you and replaces the windshield with a comparable one to OEM. If you drive a lot on highways, you have to get this coverage........great deal.

Thanks for the input. Luckily, it is covered in my insurance with a $50 deductable. Also, I found out the the only glass available for our vehicles are dealer only. That makes me feel better. I only wanted OEM or PPG. I sure didn't want anything else. Thanks again everyone.
