Nissan oil filter leak

Couple days ago I was under the Armada checking around and noticed oil drip on the bottom side of the oil filter; so I thought I might not have tightened it enough in my last oil change which also seemed strange as I have never have had an issue on any car in the past 20 years; once the filter sits add ¾ of a turn. Anyways, I tightened it some more and buttoned it up. Next day I take a look and there it is again “the drip”. I’m like what is going on? So this morning I take the skid plate out and really look with a flash light and I don’t see any oil leak at the oil filter cooler and no oil leak at the filter junction, all is nice and dry everywhere. I then wipe the drip clean from the filter and start the truck; I let it idle five minutes and guess what? the drip begins but upon close inspection the drip is seeping out of the filter’s seam!! I’m like WOW never seen this before especially in an OEM filter. Makes me wonder of Nissan’s filter quality now. So went ahead and changed the oil and put a FRAM filter and now no more “drip”. If you use an OEM oil filter keep an eye on it. Below pics of the filter seeping while idling.

That's a common symptom of a doubled-up gasket when the old filter one stuck on the housing and a new filter spun on top of it when not noticed.

Other than that, i've not had any such issue and at 187k so far.
I disagree. Look closely at the picture, the leak is from the filters actual seam and not the seal to the block. There never was a double gasket. This filter (and who knows how many others) must have been a production manufacture problem.
Ah, sorry. I couldn't tell from the pics. You can switch to a Wix, Purolator One or Boss, or another reputable brand and kiss that Nissan leaky one goodbye forever.

Have you considered using a Baldwin brand filter. They have a heavy duty housing and decent mid grade filtration.
I Have not, and never heard of that brand. When I can find OEM for cheap I will buy it, otherwise it's STP, WIX, FRAM
I understand I've used them on my Jeep and may start using them on our 2019 Armada simply because they are heavy duty.
