I thought the relay on my subwoofer was having issues based on some posts I've read on the forum. The sound in the back of the Armada is just weak. I decided it would be worth throwing a few bucks at the relay in the hopes it fixed it. Well, I found out that the relay was soldered in place, so it took me a bit longer to replace it as I had to break out my soldering iron and desolder the old one.

Anyway, I got it back in the Armada and set my fade to the rear and the sub doesn't work at all (it works when it is set to the middle or front). Is this normal? Is the sub only powered off the front channels?

I'll check later when I get out of work. Maybe someone can check sooner.

What year is yours... 2010?

2008 LE with Bose and navigation. I should probably add this to my signature later today.

My subwoofer level drops to zero as I adjust the fade all the way to the rear.

Thanks for the confirmation. I wish it would work with both, but at least I know it's not my system.

Yes, because your subwoofer is driven from your front speakers. thats why the more you fade towards the rear, lesser the subwoofer output.
