There is no support to speak of. The braket is practically worthless. There is a new bracket that they are putting in with factory DVD to reduce the monitor bounce. I hope to get it done (for my aftermarket) within the next few weeks. While you are driving reach back and feel the headliner and you will feel how much bounce there is. I hoping this bracket helps otherwise I'm going to add some headrest monitors as it gives the rear passenger car sickness trying to watch the bouncing monitor and I just have a 7" monitor.

Reading the service buletin on the roof resonance it doesn't look hard to take down the headliner just need an extra set of hands probably.

Hello everyone,
I'm new around here and think this site is great.

Anyhow I also just bought an 05 LE without the dvd and would like to install one. Ive browsed the net and found the Myron and Davis 7" overhead and would like to know if anyone has anyone installed this unit. Is this an oem unit? If it is does it come with all the cables? I also wanted to install 2 on my headrest. Do you actually void your warranty if you splice into the electrical wiring? Thanks
I've read a few post where others have done the M&D and it was a fairly easy install. Personally I think its a little overpriced as you can get a 7" monitor and have it mounted for probably less than $350. It's not the OEM you will have to cut the OEM IR (or put tape over it) or they will interfer.

It should come with all the wires. And you shouldn't have any worries about warranty unless you really short something out. Which shouldn't be a problem avoiding. If there is a problem they will have to prove what you did caused the problem....which is something I wouldn't want to go through as I'm sure it will be a long drawn out ordeal. All you will be doing is spicing into deadend wires that are meant to take the signal you will be providing.

I can get the M&D for $480, how much did you buy your blaupunkt monitors? I cant seem to find them anywhere under $400 for the 5.6". Where did you get the dvd player at? Need to do something fast.
Missed this one...they've been discontinued. I got 2 7" monitors, a splitter and dvd off ebay for $500 :) . I sold all but one monitor and bought a ME3 instead of the ME1 the kit came with. All said and done the monitor and dvd cost me less than $300

Yeah, it probably would be easier but it doesn't really help my issue with mounting monitors to the headliner on each side. And I don't have a sunroof or factory DVD so I doubt that they would do mine for free.
Not having the sunroof should be easy then. There is a roof beam that runs just behind the front seats. If you pull down your overhead bin it will be easy to see. Should be able to get to what you need through the existing cutouts behind the console.

Reading through the forums regarding DVD installations. I went ahead and had a professional installed an Eiger Vision 8'. But just how big of a monitor can you go? The complainer in the family is already throwing fits. Since I won't be a passenger and always be the driver or the navigator of this beauty, I'ld like to know your opinions. I also went ahead and installed a 5.6 Wide on the passenger visor. Right now I am definitely considering rewiring the DVD player (Soundstream VDVD-160 w/TV tuner) using llajumpvid's instruction so wish me luck. If the passenger in the back cannot see I plan on installing 2 -- 5.6 in the small headrest of the second row seat for the complainers. Has anyone done this? Please feel free to share.
Any pictures of your monitor install? In regards to some of your other questions. I've seen 7" monitors put in the headrest that looked bad in that they seemed to be larger than the headrest. But I've also seen some that looked very good. I think it may be how they are installed. The ones that looked good were flush with the headrest and the "bad" ones were sitting more proud. I'll see if I can dig up a link to the good looking monitor mount...I just reread your post and noticed you are talking about the second row headrest. I haven't seen that done yet. Usually the third row will be able to watch the overhead and then the two outboard seats watch the back of the front headrest.

Ok, this maybe a really newb question, but can you use an amplifier? (any) as an alternative to the PIE Inline Channel Line Driver? The wiring for the aftermarket DVD to the factory wire, according to Armadafication, you have to connect the 2 wires Audio On and the FES Enable to make the REAR AV work when you press it for a couple of seconds, this I need verification before I start pulling some wires. This is the only part Im confused  Now the FES LH & RH inputs, I think those are for the speaker wires and do understand that I have to split the RCA output audio jacks.
You DO have to connect those two wires. The wiring diagram that I link to in my how to link (see signature) shows the wires and colors you need.

You need to ask someone more knowing than I about adding an amp to the line level inputs versus the line level amp. I don't know if they are the same type of signal.

I'm going to rewire my power connections when my nav switcher comes back from getting the reverse camera option added. I'll take some pictures when I do and add to my how to link. It was suppose to be here today but UPS sent an email that they are rescheduling to next week....so don't expect an update for at least another week. I've got to get up the courage to drill a
1-3/16" hole in my tailgate next to the rear hatch handle to mount my rear view camera too... :)
