I have had my 05 QX in the dealer 6 times now , the satellite radio that they added ( same as factory system) keeps cutting out (says aquiring signal) they said that they changed the Sirius main unit twice and the antenna twice. My antenna is mounted to the right of my rear view mirror on the inside of the glass, should I have them put it outside. on a 2 hour drive from sandiego my sat will cut out up to 7 times excluding the normal cutting out under overpasses.sometimes it even just goes out while I am parked listing to it. any advice would be appreciated.

I've got the same system with the same antenna in the same location. I've got an '05 Armada, that's the only difference. I've had no problems with reception. Although mine was a factory option, not installed after delivery. They did however have to replace the receiver unit once, but I had no reception at all. It really sounds like an antenna issue. Make the pay for an outside mount antenna and see if that works. I was going to have my dealer do this if it wasn't the unit.

Depends on the type antenna

My dealer screwed up the install and tried to put a non through glass antenna in the place the sigma (sirius interior glass mount ant.)antenna is supposed to go. It has to be the SIGMA antenna to work. if they try to put a normal antenna in that location the antenna is upside down (metal base plate facing the sat) and it will actually block the signal.

My install was a kit supplied from Nissan with the sigma installation instructions and a roof mount antenna (GO FIGURE) luckiley I caught them before they stuck the antenna and put the car back together (of course that was 8 hours into what should be a 1 hour install :censor:

Hey, 'm having the EXACT same problem with mine. Been to the dealer regarding the problem about 5 times. They replace the unit, but I keep getting the same problem.

Did you ever get them to resolve the issue? What did you/they do?
