I have them and honestly they don't flip out enough to really do much IMO. I suppose if you are hauling a dog they would give it a place to slobber.....
I live in South Florida and I was tinking that I could use them to cycle the very hot air out of the truck. I have 2 small kids and have sun shades on the rear windows, so I can only open the front windows to let the air out when I get in the truck.llajumpvid said:I have them and honestly they don't flip out enough to really do much IMO. I'm in Houston so I know hot and humid. I try to remember walking up to the car to use the remote to roll down the front windows and then max out the AC. It only takes a minute for the air to cool down. I have 20% tint on the front which helps it stay cool as well. I never notice a difference with the flip outs open in terms of cooling it down faster (that when I think about opening them...)markandjenn said:I live in South Florida and I was tinking that I could use them to cycle the very hot air out of the truck. Does anyone use these windows in very hot and humid climates for this purpose and if so, does it help?
Great! Thanks for the info.llajumpvid said:I'm in Houston so I know hot and humid. I try to remember walking up to the car to use the remote to roll down the front windows and then max out the AC. Dogs- They get a sniff out the open window and they do slobber all over it!llajumpvid said:I have them and honestly they don't flip out enough to really do much IMO. I suppose if you are hauling a dog they would give it a place to slobber.....
Manny - Why would you need two new windows? Since the windows already open, couldn't you just detatch the old manual mechanism and attach the motorized mechanism, or is it not that simple?manny0 said:You would have to buy 2 new windows about $150 each 2 motors $40 each and the switch that is about $30 and run wire to the front. No pre-wire. Solder to the ends of motors and to switch cuzz they don’t sale a harness for them. i have all the stuff to do it just dont have time to do it yet. plus i want to Integrate to the alarm so when I remote start it will open the window for a set time and close them to let all the hot air blow out.
I use them when the dogs are back there. It can get pretty stuffy. Sometimes also direct the last vents straight back and close the middle row and hit MAX A/C if its hot and close the windows (automagically!)andy said:I've never used mine once yet. Basically, I forgot I had them. What are they exactly for anyway? Aren't 4 windows enough?
