Hey all,

Had the tires rotated the other day and noticed excessive tire wear on the rear tires.....the inner tread was much lower than the outer, or middle of the tire....all tires were properly inflated....

does this sound like an alignment issue on the rear tires?????

I have about 15k miles on the mada and this was the first time I noticed the tire wear...

Sounds like the toe in is off at the rear. Have your dealer (or a business you trust) check it. I think you are past the Nissan warranty adjustments at 15K miles. (I think the limit is 12 months/12K miles for adjustments, rattles, etc.)

You were on the money....Rear toe angle almost off 1 complete degree...both rear wheels were toed outward...technician said he never saw a vehicle with rear toe that bad....they only charged me for half of the allignment fee and offered me a discount if the tires don't make 30k.....my vehicle was a dealer demo and came with 5k miles on it.

Just glad I corrected the problem now and didn't completely ruin my tires.

Glad you got it corrected. Many people don't realize that alignment is necessary on the rear of a independent supension.
