Scangauge II

Got mine yesterday too. Very nice.

Seems functionally the same as Scangauge (I). The only big difference I see is the ability to change display colors. Since we are orange anyway that doesn't make much difference.

The big difference is that it so much better looking after having its "extreme makeover."

This is a great product just for the fact you can finally know how much gas is in your tank. The manual also has some tricks to determine your actual speed. The Scangauge II speed reading is adjustable as is the fuel metering reading. The manual includes formulas for computing tire change differences but the easy way is to run a steady speed (they suggest using a GPS) or watch the distance readings over a known distance and adjust the speed reading up/down until the distance reads correctly.

The factory is caught up so shipment is now prompt by Priority Mail.

I bought mine here:

It's $164.95 and includes free shipping.

I mounted in center tray. As it is Cat 5 cable, it can be cut, put through a small hole and crimped. I proceeded a little more cautiously. I used another Cat 5 cable, cut it, and twisted the eight pairs back together. Connected it to the Scangauge II connector with an RJ45 coupler.

Some photos are hopefully attached.

How hard is it to tie up with the Armada's Electrical and ECU wirings?

It plug into the ODB2 port, don't have to wire up anything. It get all power and info from there. The Scan Guage 2 will get in the near future a SG to USB cable, I believed it will allow you to adjust certain paramater on your vehicle like timing advance and such (it's only a guess).
Might be neat. What does it do besides mileage though? I could care less on mileage. When it goes below a quarter tank, I get more. Programming the computer however would be nice.
Yep, it's plug n play. It plugs into the socket under the dash just right of the steering wheel. You must tell it engine size, fuel type, fuel tank size, and whether you want to use metric or imperial units. There are 126 color combinations by mixing four levels of Red, Green, and Blue plus eight preset color choices.
But what does it do besides mileage?

Most of that stuff my tech package does and my dash gauges monitor. Could be useful for the no-tech madas, but not essential.
Yeah, pretty much. I guess if I didn't have the tech package I might be interested. Maybe if they make it so you can program the timing, etc. ;)

Yeah that's what I'm waiting on. Seeing what's avaiable for the SG to USB have to offer. I have a the Scan Guage 1 right now and is pretty happy so no need to jump on this one yet.
