I just wanted to share something with you guys. aside from my armada i also own a 1999 Pathfinder and last week my wyfe told me that there were some rattles coming from the back. First i pull the hatch cover off to see if there were any loose parts back there and i found none. Next i had her drive the car while i was in the back seat trying to figure out where it was coming from. my next move was to open the hatch door while my wife was still driving and there it was. These rattles were coming from (believe it or not) the weather stripping around the hatch opening. I went home and took a piece of rag and some armorall and applied armorall to the weather stripping around the hatch and while i was at it i did all the doors. went out for a spin and all the rattles were gone. it is amazing i would have never thought that rattles came from dry weatherstripping. all you guys may want to try dressing you weatherstripping to see if that's your problem. there's nothing to lose trying this. let me know.

I finally fixed my door rattles!

Same thing- rattling, rattling. I noticed that when opening the doors I would hear the weatherstripping make this suction type sound. I put some felt stripping behind the weatherstripping (on the body side) and their gone! I'm going to the store today to get some more to do every section where there's weatherstripping on the body side- bottom of the doors, rear gate, etc.
good for you !! I am hoping this is everybody's problem. I can't believe that nissan has messed up on weatherstripping after all these years.

The dealer sprayed a bunch of something oily around my doors and the noise went away a little for 2 days. Now it's back even louder.

But I like the felt under the weatherstripping approach. adjmcloon, can you provide more details and even pictures? I would give an arm and a leg to be able to once and for all get rid of those damn noises!

How does the felt stay stuck on there?

Thanks!
depending on what was used (like wd-40) that stuff dries up real fast and you are back to square one in no time. armorall soaks into rubber and can last a long time. the felt trick sounds good too but the only thing i am skeptical about the felt is you have to stick it to the body side of your car and what if it starts peeling off then you have all this glue to deal with. if it's good adhesive like 3m double sided tape then you're good to go if not when it starts getting hot during summer all those adhesives melt.

Ok guys,

This fix really, really works! I have eliminated easily 80% of my rattles.

You can use felt strip with adhesive backing, or simply go to Wal Mart in the fabric dept. and get the 6 ft box of velcro for $5- you'll then have 12 ft of material you can use. The velcro has a sticky side and a cloth side.

Pull the weatherstripping off that is attached to the body at inside top of the door holes. You'll know which one I'm referring to by seeing the grey trim strip on the inside of the cab up around the door sill. Pull that off, and just put your felt tape or 1/2 velcro strip along the door sill on the out side metal lip. Put the stripping back on, being careful to push the grey strip back into place on the inside of the cab. Problem solved! You'll be amazed at the difference if your ride is anything like mine. I can't believe the fix was this easy- I've been chasing it and couldn't eliminate it. I mean, who would have thought the weatherstripping would make a clicking noise?

I did every sq. inch for all 4 doors and the rear gate, and it's night and day. Now all I have are 2 seat squeaks and some console rattle and I will (hopefully) be rattle free!

Maybe I can finally enjoy this thing after the past year. Lord, let's hope so.

I will try to post pics tomorrow- got to run back to Wally World and get camera batteries.
Good for you, I am happy that this info is helping out. that's what this site is all about helping each other, enjoy it!!
