I feel your pain. We make a lot of use having the three seats across the second row. And we still would love to have a split third row - unforunately, until Nissan changes the line-up, I don't think there are many options.
You may be able to add a third seat to the second row.
Until then, you could put two or three kids in the third row and lay the center flat for groceries. Not ideal, but ...
