Working on the comm situation in the cockpit.

Will eventually wire the CB radio in, just haven't decided if I'm keeping the wireless charging yet. Really tempted to rip it out and put more ports in there.
I’m not a fan of the wireless charging station myself. It makes my phone too hot and it slides around too much. I don’t use it. It could definitely be better used space for something else.

that is my complaint too, I still have an iPhone 11, I fear this wireless charger will blow my phone up.

Spoke to the wife and kids, they wanted to keep the wireless charging thing, so I just ripped the cover to it off instead. Can still slide a phone or AirPods in there for charging after adding the additional outlets.

Did you just break it off? I’ve been eyeing how to best disassemble the trim without breaking stuff, to do some kind of wrap or paint.

Thank you @CBEllis.

@Mojo
I took the truck for allignment and the rear on both ends have a 2degree tow and the shop stated the adjustment is only a 1/4. It's on the ADO rear springs. Did you experience this or would you have any suggestions for me?

*wonder if i need to rotate the springs or something else. View attachment 52840
Sorry Randeep, I totally missed this post. Your Armada looks fricking awesome with that lift!

Your rear is almost identical to mine, just a little out. The fronts though, I don't remember mine like that. I'll look for my Nissan dealership alignment today and let you know.

I removed the left hand side first with a plastic pry tool, came off no issues and it was very easy, tried to do the same with the right side for around 10 mins before I decided that was enough of that, and then just ripped it off - literally cave man style. No damage to car, but was damage to the flap, one of the hinges broke in the removal. Small price to pay for way more storage and power outlets.

For protection I was tempted to take the whole thing off and do that too, there are a few vids of people disassembling the Y62 and installing those Chinese head units and it's really not that hard. The hard part is finding the 6hrs needed just to remove and paint/wrap the trim, this does not include reinstall time. I used to be worried about resale value so always considered the safest/best option, but as soon as I did that bumper cut, that has now been removed from my mind. I am just waiting to hear back from vendors in Aus on quotes for skid plates then she's basically ready to hit the road. I do still need to find a Pro4X rim for my spare as I don't have a 295/70/18 spare tire yet, that is currently my priority. There is a guy on instagram that has a Rigd tire swing, really like those too!

Are you considering any rock rails. If you came across anything in the U.S that would work, I would like to know.
No vendors in the US provide these, I did a pretty extensive search a while back when planning the build.

I was quoted $700CAD for custom sliders, I'll get these eventually. But I want many more things before I get those. The factory side steps will do the job for now.

Alternatively, the space between the wheels is 78", so any tacoma / small truck sliders will work (NOT the Jeep Gladiator, these are 84"), providing you can get a welder to weld the three mounting brackets on.

Hey Mojo, nice rig you got there ! hoping to ask a few questions. the bilstein kit (i've seen it around) offers with or without ADO loaded upper control arms or SPC uca's. being dutch, living in the USA, i still need to get my bearing around all the abbreviations. what is the ADO and SPC stand for, and would i need those ? i got the 2020 SL 4WD and i am just looking to get the 2" lift to accomodate a slightly taller tire (hoping to plant some 35" A/T instead of the highay tires it has now)
Snorkelwise did you find any of them metal snorkels here in the USA ? i believe the sound they generate is quite nice but seem to only find them over in Australia

Thanks for your time !

Cheers,

Marc

I believe ADO stands for the company/website Alldogs Offroad Coop. SPC stands for Specialty Products company. Both companies offer their own upper control arms for the Armada.

@Randeep Dhillon Hey I was just checking to see if you got your rear alignment issue sorted out. I just installed the ADO Fox kit and my toe was about 3.1* (1.8* on the left 1.2* on the right). Any suggestions? Also, im not sure the alignment guy was a seasoned pro.

It turns out the the first alignment guy was the issue. Took it to another place and they were able to get it all on spec except the camber was a little positive out of spec.

Hey Mojo,

Been following your thread here, Armada looks great! I have a 2021 Armada also and am looking to add a lift kit like you did. Wanted to see if you had any long term updates regarding your lift kit and ride quality since installation. Also, did you install the kit yourself?

Thanks for any help,

Daniel

been a while - but, update!

Added Skid Plates under the Armada at last, and mounted the full size spare on Nissan steely in the stock location. Haven't taken a pic, but I will at some point.

Added third row cargo rack, which I am really liking!

Will be building the draw system now this rack is in place.

Sorry for the terribly late reply, I really suck at social stuff.

I've had the Alldogs Off-road lift on the Armada for around 14,000kms now. No issues to report. Car is flawless. Car loves taking a beating.

I have no regrets not stepping up to the Fox shocks. I didnt want a floaty ride, I wanted a firm capable off-road ride. Which is currently being delivered by the Alldogs lift.

The kit was installed by a local shop I am good friends with. I dont see why this could not be done on your drive, providing you can lift the vehicle high enough to replace the shocks and springs.

This is exciting being able to see someone tap into the full potential of the mada! M inspired and as a new owner (3 months now with a 21 model) I have long term plans to get here too

I like how the cut lines look, this has me thinking of taking the lower center section out too, and replacing it with plate that follows down to the bash plates...
cheers! Yea, I am doing exactly that in a few weeks. It is just starting to warm up here in Alberta now, meaning I can work on the truck again. And the first thing I'm doing is finding a way to remove that lower plastic trim peice and connect it to my steel skid plates. Take caution though, that whole lower bumper part is mainly held on by the top clips, I removed 4-6 of the clips cutting those huge corners out, If I/you remove that final lower piece, you are removing the last four bolts stopping that from flapping around.

I am currently researching the 2024 Nissan Patrol Warrior front lower skid plate (the red thing) and its compatibility to mine. I need a few things this summer from Aus (exhaust, hood GPS mount, hidden front winch mount etc) so I will defo get this added to my shipment if its possible. If not, I'll let you know what I figure out, but it will require fabrication for sure.

A tip for sourcing materials (at least in the states, but it's probably true up there)... Dock plates are the cheapest way to buy aluminum plate. 1/4 or 3/8 thick, they're bomb proof. I cut mine to have the diamond plate facing up.

These are strong enough to jack the trick up with.
