Hi guys, I'm visiting from TitanTalk where i wasn't able to get any help with a problem and was hoping someone here could help. I'm getting a kenwood ddx-6019 and I'm trying to figure out what i will need to do to get everything running. I've already got the steering wheel controls ready to go but im not sure what i need to do to get the stock dvd player to run with the new dvd player. Seems easier to hook the stock up to the aftermarket then the other way around since i don't want to lose the rear controls and the wireless headphones. Any help would be great but i would like it to be things that are for sure and not guesses. Thanks guys.

If your HU has RCA inputs you will be able to run the audio from the factory DVD into it by just splicing RCA's on to the factory wires. Connecting the rear controls....???? don't know if that is possible. Does your HU have the capablities of playing two sources at once? If it does it might be do able. I have some wiring diagrams for the factory system in the How To thread link in my signature.

ok, i've been playing with the wires and have found the ones i need for the dvd my other question is about the wireless headphones. do they get there info from the dvd player or the monitor, meaning if i use the aftermarket dvd player to run the stock monitor will the headphones still work or would they only work on the stock dvd player.

If you use an aftermarket dvd player and assuming you tap into the factory harness you can use the headphones, the IR transmitter is where the rear controller buttons are. Some time the aftermarket screen have a IR transmitter that would allow for headphones use also.

Neither, the IR signal comes from the Factory HU. I see the Kenwood you are getting has dual zone capabilities. You maybe able to run the second zone audio to the rear controls to get it to work. Somewhere around here there is a diagram of the rear audio controls. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll see if I can.

Sorry, I re-read the first post. I was assuming you want to add a dvd player to your stock HU. Look like you are replacing the HU also. Which like llajumpvid stated, no IR unless you use an aftermarket screen that has IR output.

ok, i the diagram of the rear controls and it has the left and right +'s and -'s which i would know what to do with but then there are 4 remotes, a remote ground, an enable, a shield and an sw b+. so which of any of those would i have to tap into. And as far as the headsets, the HU comes with a remote so it has ir but does that mean i can use headsets? Thanks for all the help guys and sorry for so many questions but all my other systems before were cd player, amps and subs so this is all new.

The remote and the headphones IR are two different things. One is a transmitter and one is a receiver so you need to get the factory one working or get an aftermarket transmitter.
I'm on my way to San Diego or I would spend some time looking closer but I think the enable probably works similiar to the dvd wiring which I have broken down in my how to. You might have to do some testing with the existing HU to see what is going on and try to figure out what you need to connect.

update and some questions for anyone who cares or can help. I have hooked up the head unit and the steering wheel controls, but i still have some issues to work threw. First off i would be intrested to know if anyone with the stock dvd player has hooked up an aftermarket headunit, because i hooked up all the wires correctly but the signal is not making it to any stock speakers. I checked to make sure the HU was putting it out and it was and i have my front speakers and subs running threw rca's but the rear speakers are not working. The stock HU has 5 plugs that go into the back and the wiring harness only takes into account 2 of these. So i need to figure out what is going on with them and then i need to tackle getting the stock dvd player back up and running. Any help or diagrams would be alot of help. thanks.
