Factory overheaed display

My factory 5-disc cd changer crapped out on me. I did alot of research on this and discovered that the bose units are poorly made and that this problem is current. I decided to install a pioneer headunit. After installation I noticed that the flippdown room screen would not power on. My dvd player still has power and responds to the remote. Is there anyway I can tap into the wiring of the screen and perhaps hard wire it to the batttery so I can gain power?:bow:

Great Post! I just installed a 7" tft LCD in one of the over head drop down consoles and kids old Playstation 2 on the floor in my 04 LE last night. Making a 350 mile trip for Thanksgiving with 4 kids would have been rough without some form of entertainment. As an Electronic Engineer I have a lot of "junk" laying around and happened to come across an old 7" tft monitor I had tucked away. Anyways I now have DVD and gaming capability, didn't have to cut anything, and am only out $60 for RCA cords and a DC to AC converter. Thanks again for the wonderful posts on how to hook everything up!

Wow, lots of information in here, but not sure how to apply it to my 2008. I really want to add the M&D ANS190 (if I can still find one, I understand they don't make it anymore) or at least the ANS185, and the AD212 player. But I'm not sure if all the harnesses shown and stuff apply to 2008. I understand a few things changed after 2007.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

i have an 08 armada se need info about oem nav and dvd player

does any one know if its possible to install an original nav system on 08 armada that did not come with it if so please advise me what i can also i want to know if its possible to install an oem dvd player as well

Please help! I have a 2004 Armada with a after market Eclipse Avn5435 in the dash. I want to hook up my factory DVD player thats in console and factory drop down 7" monitor without taking the eclipse out. How do I do that?

P.s. I don't want to buy a new DVD/monitor if I don't have to.

Can you use the head unit speakers to listen to movies, or can you only use the wirless head phones.

Can anyone answer this I just bought 05 LE with Built in DVD and Nav from factory cannot figure out how to get sound through head unit. Did not come with wireless headsets and does anyone know where i can buy some of the head sets? Thank you in advance.

ASSuming you have the stock system. You could have an aftermarket system that the dealer will install. this system, although "installed at the dealer and made to be factory" is from Myron and Davis. if you have this type of system, the dealer may have connected your dvd players audio to the aux in behind the panel, or could have a wireless RF transmitter that you pick up via the radio. this box may be under the shifter console.

verify with the dealer who sold you the car what system you have.
