Studs on stock tires?

Anyone able to get studs on their stock tires? I hear some places won't do and some will. I only had my stock wheels on for about 3 days. Then bought other wheels. How much should I pay for tires with studs or is it possible to have them applied to stock tires?

Never heard of a state that allowed them. I grew up in the NY NJ PA CN area. They all had a ban for at least the past 20 years on studs. Chains are also very restricted, but I'd rather have those anyway. Here's a good chain link, pun intended. ;) http://www.tirechain.com/305-55R-20.htm
Wow thats werid. I live Washington State. They allow studs from Nov till April.

They rip up the roads. I would think Buffalo gets more snow than you do but no studs allowed.
Got my facts mixed up. Dooh! It was chains that were banned. Here's the laws for chains and studs for each state.

Doesn't look like studs do much though. Probably do better with A/T or Snow tires than studding the stocks:
