8. Dash rattle - there are two of these it seems. One stems from the metal panel right at the windsheild. I covered mine completely in dynamat and it went away.
Did you remove the panel and dynomatted it? If so, how hard is it to remove the panel. I can no longer just ignore the rattling. Thanks.

I took my Mada up skiing and on it's first road trip yesterday, was the first time I rode in dead silence because the family was sleeping... 2k miles on it after 6 weeks..the rear passenger door had so much wind noise I thought for sure the door was open..and the squeaking was out of control, I almost lost my mind, seems to be coming from the roof racks, I tried to get up there and shake everything but couldnt find it, bascially only hear it when you hit some bumps (real soft bumps does the trick). Gonna call the dealer in the morning and bring it in, I can't deal with that squeaking.

I think i've isolated this annoying squeak..went under the steering wheel area and started pushing / poking every piece of metal i could find...theres that one main box where all the electric comes into at the far right, its by far the biggest metal box there ....pushing and tapping it gently and there was my noise..i'm almost certain that's it. I dont know it's formal name but i've gotta figure out how to stop that noise before i lose my mind!

Since I have not yet purchased an Armada, this thread is causing me to have second thoughts. The Armada seems like the perfect SUV when compared to the competition. Have most of these squeaks, rattles, etc., been resolved with the 08 and 09 models?

Thanks Marc. I have researched for what seems like forever and finally decided on the Armada over the Tahoe and Sequoia. I would hate to think I am making a foolish purchase; I read the CR ratings and felt they were skewed because of the 04 era brake issues.

I love the new Tahoe but decided against it because of typical General Motors problems. I was hoping the Armada might at least come close to Toyota in quality. I could not afford the new generation Sequoia, and, thoufgt the previous generation had dated styling and a very unappealing interior design (dash and cockpit area).

One of my wife's main criteria in selecting HER next vehicle is reliability. She does not want to have to visit the dealer for annoying problems. Her Honda has her spoiled.

Do you think the Armada has the odds in its favor for reliability?

i had the 06 from 06 until 08. no issues at all. i have the 08 from december to current. no issues. i had to take it in to get the ECM flashed due to it giving the 02 sensor a false reading... that ws under warranty of course.

there is, to me, no other suv out that has what the armada has... style, class, power... the chicks dig em! :D

your wife will love the armada and will wonder how she got along in life the last couple of years driving other vehicles...

front driver side wheel clicking noise

I've noticed for some time now that I can hear a rattle/clicking noise coming from the front wheel. I took the wheel off and could turn the wheel and tried to focus on exactly where the clicking noise is coming from and it sounds like something to do with the axle where it meets the motor (not on the wheel end). What could this be? Easy fix? Cost? Suggestions?

Thanks, Corey

the only noise i have in my 06 le is coming from the overhead console in the rear. i'm fairly certain its the compartment behind the dvd screen, because if i have one of my kids put their finger on it, it stops. I guess when my wife gets home from work later this week i'm gonna try to figure it out.

I'm fairly new to this site, but I do have a few questions that I'd like to ask. I have an 04 Armada. After the engine has been running and I shut it off and start it again, there's a rattling noise when I take off. It only lasts until the car shifts to 2nd or 3rd gear. Anyone have any idea what this sound might be? I'd really appreciate the help

Bodacious, Vandrick... The undercarriage heat shields and wheel well trim can produce a lot of noise. I went front to back underneath the Mada and put some small bends in the heat shields that were rattling. Most of them had some sort of rattle. I also took off the brush guard from the front where you access the oil filter. I installed rubber washers under the bolts but it still rattled and since I don't do any extreme off road driving, I don't think it's a problem - (members, tell me if I'm wrong and should put it back)

The lower part of the front wheel well trim were really loose on my '06. This is the very lowest part that sits on top of the body in the area near the side steps. I used some foam pipe insulation to pad the gaps where these two meet.

These fixes made a huge diff for me in terms of rattling on startup and at certain engine speeds, speed bumps, rough roads etc.

Hope it helps.

By the way, I found a lot of trim pieces around the front seats that are really loose and rattled. Most of these are the plastic covers that house where the seats bolt to the floor and some of the trim that surrounds the lower seat between the seat cushion and floor. Using some pipe insulation here also helped.

I have a 2011 Armada with 52,000 on it and have a ton of rattles on it. I think the rear dvd entertainment system is the most annoying out of them all. Has anyone else had this issue and have an easy fix for it.

Front dash rattle as well but its hard to replicate it when its parked and too hard to reach up to while driving.
