Has anyone developed a way (e.g. harness, pull strap, etc.) to pull up the third row when it is flat?

I am 5' 11" and find that I have to climb onto at least the bumper to pull the seat back so it can be used.

We do this fairly often and want to know if anyone has got a solution. I am thinking of making a strap and fastening it to top rear side of the seats. Not sure how yet, but it may involve uncovering the upholstery to get a good mounting point.

Any ideas?

I usually do it from the second row seat, but being able to do it from the back without climbing would be great. Let us know what you come up with!!

Open second row door fold seat up and push 3rd row up. Much easier. I'm 6'1" and still have to climb in sometimes from the back. My old Honda Odyssey had a strap that you could pull.

i think the headrests have to be removed before we fold down the 3rd row seats, right? if so, the temporary way i can think of is put an umbrella with the "j-shape" handle. grab the tip of the umbrella and use the handle to pull the seats back up. it's kind of weird but still better than climb back into the trunk/go to the 2nd row. but if we don't have to remove the headrests, it'll be much easier. just use a longer strap to go around one of the metal poles of the headrest.

so it'll be quite simple then. just use couple straps/ropes/twines/anything to go around one of the metal poles on each side. make sure they are long enough so that you can pull them back up when they are fold down. i hope this is making sense :p.

My sisters Ford Expedition has got split power 3rd row seats. That's on my wish list for Armada to do next.
They have the split, but no power. You'll have to do that yourself. ;)

2004 Expedition Eddie Bauer came with electric power split 3rd row seats.
2 buttons in the back make getting the 3rd row seats up and down very easy.
They got us beat there at least.

Yeah, but most amps only go up to 10, and this one goes to 11! ;)

I can walk around and let them down faster than waiting for an electric motor.

Its not the down part its putting it back up that sucks. I put mine up just so I can get more ventilation to my PC in the rear compartment. If its to let some one sit back there that fairly easy to just flip 2nd row up and have them lift it up....still not a big deal. I REALLLLLLY want split 3rd row though. One of my friends has a Eddie Bower and he says the power seat option is great. At least I have the power gate which is a great feature when your hands are full with the groceries to just hit the button on the way into the house.
