Bought my 2011 4x4 Platinum with 81K miles in May of 2019 and letting her go now with 125K on the clock.

I put relatively little money into this car over those years but I DID do all the maintenance as needed as well as regular oil changes, rotors, pads, etc... I replaced the clock spring, the intake manifold gaskets and some other things. The car was great that whole time and I really grew to love it. Unfortunately at my last inspection the whole thing went down the tubes:

Driver side manifold and cat (the usual issue): quoted $1,700 to fix
Left rear control arm ($500 installed)
Transfer case leaking
Engine oil leak
Rear suspension air bags in trouble....

I don't want to put the money into this car to keep it going due to its age. I know one day soon the right manifold will die and things will keep cropping up. The 13mpg was getting old too.

I'm going to miss how amazingly useful this truck is and I understand a lot of you are going to say I should just put the $4k into it or whatever but I live in an apartment complex and can't do any of the work myself. Ability wise I am capable of doing most of what it needs myself with the exception of the exhaust manifold, but I don't have the time or energy to tackle it, especially without a place to work.

A few months ago I bought everything you need to convert the front and rear suspension to Bilsteins (4600 front) but I never installed them if someone wants to buy them.

Good luck everyone and keep enjoying these rigs!

I agree with the R51 pathifinder to be easier to whip around.
Sad to see you go.

Yes, I like VQ40 too, it's a great engine. See you over there!

From the looks of that repair quote/estimate, I'm taking a guess and say you're also in Cali/commifornia? You're not alone and I feel your pain having been here over 4 decades😆. If there was ever THE perfect example of a love/hate situation, me and Ca is it. Sorry to hear about you mada's demise, most folks would make the same decision you had. That's awesome you took a liking to the pathfinder. Hope you get tons of enjoyable miles with your new wheels!
Im curious to know if the Bilsteins you mentioned fit on your Pathfinder? That would be a win win! If not and you're still wanting to pass them down, I'd like to ask few questions if you wouldn't mind. Past couple days I've been trying to convince my cheap ass self, to bite the bullet on a set of the B8 5100 but you mentioned "everything you need to convert...." I didn't know there was more stuff that's needed other than the shocks/strut and tools to do the replacement. Could make the 5100 exceed my "spend without getting sick threshold". If you've taken care of em already, awesome brother! But I would still like to ask you a few questions on "all the stuff" and why you went with the 4600 over something/anything else. Thanks!

No, not in California...I'm in PA which is not as bad but still expensive. To change an Armada from air suspension to standard, you have to trade out for heavier springs (I got Moog) and then get the correct shocks (I went Bilstein). Other than that it's some bits and pieces you need which I also got. It's a shame they won't work on my Pathfinder (I don't think) otherwise I'd definitely through them on. I have them for sale on here in the marketplace but I can't ship.

Adamar2011 lucky for us we only share some of each others pain😁. I had a question if you would indulge me. Was going to risk scorn and post yet another suspension/shock strut thread, but I'll test the waters with you first.
Have you heard of or researched nothing negative regarding the Bilstein b8 5100 series?
I hadn't until ironically just as I was about to spring for a complete set all around.
From what I gathered, it would seem that the adjustability benefits of these could be negated by their lack of added travel length(supposedly identical to stock). There are claims that upon hitting bumps and dips in the road, that they are prone to top out frequently and cause severe bounce(to the point of feeling unsafe). Granted they these were covering an entirely different model, but it was also an SUV and I found it a little concerning. Have read nothing but positive praise on this forum and the other Nissan/titan sites, which made it all the more curious(for me anyway). What has your experience and gathered info/word of mouth has you make of this anomaly I seem to have run into? I appreciate any insight, thanks!
