Tires size for 22's?

2316 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JonnyVegas
I am a new Armada owner and just getting started with some personalization to the truck, starting with some 22's. I see some sites stating that 305/45/22 are correct, other sites saying the 305/40/22 is the right size, and TireRack says 295/45/22.

I understand the numbers, but does anyone have some practical experience they can use for advise?

Also, if you have some, could you please send or post pictures of your Armada with 22's as I am still trying to decide what style looks best!

Cheers,
Jon

No practical experience, but this tire size is within less than 1% of the OEM tire diameter. If you don't want worry about rub or odometer error I would go with the 305/45/22.

305-45-22 are 33" in diameter.
295-45-22 are 32.6" in diameter.
Stock is 32.6" in diameter.

All are within a range that will keep the speedo in an acceptable range. The 305s will put you off by 1 mph at about 70mph or so. Tirerack recommends the 295s because they are closer to stock in overall diameter and you may have slight rubbing issues from the width. Probably not. Mine are just as wide and 33.2" tall. I needed to warp my tirewellls with a heat gun to stop rubbing. Do a search on heat gun to find the post on how.
305-40-22 are 31.76" in diameter and will look small and ride poorly. Good luck!
Thanks

Thank you. I am trying to make sure I don't have the same rubbing issue as I currently have with my M3. This gives me a great start!
