Ok anyone know where i can get some heavy duty tow chains/nylon straps heavy duty enough to pull the weight of a car? I generally see people stuck in the rice burners when it snows and what not, and this year since I have a truck with "muy grande huevos" I figured i can pull some people out and brag about it at the same time. Most mofos want to charge someone to get out of trouble, I just want to take a pic of me pulling them to safety so I can post it. Call it my good deeds for this winter. Any help on this one?

Autoparts stores have these. So does Home Depot. If you want to go crazy, get some high grade stuff from www.4wheelparts.com . I think Home Depot had an 8,000 lbs tow cable when I last checked. Get big as if you get a lighter weight and pull enough to snap it, it could bommerang back and smash on the truck. Not sure if the canvas type straps can cause severe damage, but chains and winch wires have killed people inside the cabin. I used a plain rope wrapped back and forth 6 times to pull up an 8" tree that was pushed over by a hurricane but I'm looking at getting a strap myself. ;)

That is a nice thought! Just remember to be gentle during your rescue efforts. This video has been around awhile but is a almost amusing depiction of what can happen when a snow rescue goes bad.

I use Ancra straps and cables. They are a professional brand and some of the outlets mentioned above might carry them. These are high quality items used by tow trucks and big rigs.

Put my money where my mouth is and got the 20" 20K lbs from 4 wheel parts today. They have to deliver it from TX as the local shop only had the 30'. Same construction and very nice quality. Looks like it is much stronger than the othes you see. ;)
