We have a 2010 armada and live in a very hot area. While sitting in traffic yesterday the transmission temp started climbing. This is the first time this has happened. We pulled over when it got almost to the mark on the high end, came back a few hours later when traffic had cleared, started it up and drove home with no temp issues. Fluid level is good. Fluid color looks good and doesn't smell burnt. Didn't have any other temp issues with the engine. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen before and what they did to remedy the issue.

Gearbox has its own cooling system.
Maybe it's time to check it.
Try check radiator aria first.
Remove any debris.
And maybe it's time to change Gear oil.
