A few people have, and you can remove it. However, be aware that a lot of times the workers at the factory scuffed up the paint with sandpaper in order to make it stick better. Some have the scuffing, others don't, and you can't know until you pull the tape off. So it's possible that you'll have to have the pillars painted if they're all scratched. Also, I'm pretty certain that the pillars weren't clear coated.

I would suggest getting the carbon fiber pillar covers from Burtman- they're really sharp and well made and look way better than the plastic tape stuff. I have some pics on my car domain page- just follow the link below.

Has anyone tried to remove the black vinyl on the door pilars? I was told it was just tape.
Yup, it's tape. I found that out when I asked the dealership to repair a scratch they put in there during delivery prep or something. It's easily damaged, and adjmcloon's look is killer, so I'm interested in replacing now :D

And don't forget the chrome/stainless steel ones. They really accent the chrome mirrors and door handles well. Especially if you've got chrome wheels and all.

Peace

Who makes the chrome stainless steel ones....they look great.

I like the carbon fiber more. The Chrome look out of place. My G35 has chrome window frames and a chrome pillar would finish the look. The Mada has body color window frames. The Chrome on one portion of the frame to me looks like someone forgot to finish the job. Just personal preference.
