I received my Volant system (the group buy) yesterday and installed it last night on my Armada. This installation has been covered by excellent posts by M4CK and JT on ClubTitan, so I won't repeat that. However, I did find a couple of problems with my installation that I will pass on.
After I removed the stock assembly and put the Volant box in place I found that it would not go back (toward the firewall) far enough for the intake to center on the hole on the fender well. The bracket for the rear mounting screw on the stock box was in the way. (see picture 1) This bracket is spot welded to the bracket for the ABS. The bracket broke off easily using some vice grips. (see picture 2) This allowed the Voland box to move back to line up properly, and eliminated a possibly rattle coming from the box contacting the bracket.
I will follow this post with another, since we are limited on number of pictures.

Has anyone..... after installing the Volant air-intake, got the "Service Engine Soon" light come on? :comphead: If you have, what process did you take to turn it off.

When you changed the intake did you get the MAF sensor installed properly? The bright side goes up. Also be sure the connector is securely in place. Push hard on it to be sure it is seated. This link is to a post that will tell you how to read the code and reset the light:
