I'm about to buy an air intake but i dont know which one i should get. So, which one is better, volant or AEM?

A question like that will give you the same answer, the Volant people will tell you Volant and the AEM people will tell you AEM.
You'll probably be alright with either one, I myself have the AEM and is very happy with it. Goodluck with your choice.

Seems like 50/50 all over the place on this!! Good Luck. Since performance seems negligable I'll be going with the Volant for its clean looks!!

i got my volant over from tony from socal motor sports... i'd order from whoever is close to you, it may cut down on shipping... AEM or Volant, you can't go wrong on wother... jus a fair warning though... when installed, you'll be wasting more gas cuz you'll want to hear that thing growl everytime you hit that gas...

Got my intake directly from AEM.

What I can say is that AEM does do extensive testing prior to rolling out their products...Should you choose AEM, be sure to get the one with the dry filter.

Which ones (other than K&N) are CARB approved?

I realize it won't make a difference to those of you "outside" of CA .. but I'm lazy. I want to install a CAI and leave it .. get the little sticker, show it to the inspector and be done with it.

I wanted to go w/the NISMO CAI .. but have learned that Nissan/NISMO doesn't intend to go for CARB Approval .. so ... will let that one off the list ..

Just installed my AEM Brute Force. Love it. If you do go that way, be sure and take off the drivers side front wheel. Will make installation a lot easier when having to get behind the liner.

There is a new badboy on the block which is showing 28 RWHP on the dyno! This is more than any other intake.

28 RWH gain from an air cleaner! Sorry, I don't beleive that. That equates to about 33.5 HP at the flywheel. There is no way any air cleaner system, even if it affects the MAF readings can make that much increase over the stock air cleaner system.
This is my opinion, of course. But it is an opinion based on many years of experience.

Well a clubtitan switched over from volant and he noticed a power increase. Even if it doesnt make 28 rwhp its still more than the competition check the dyno readings on enjens website.
