I just put on my 22's last night(DUB Dirty Dog) and there 22x9.5 with a 35mm offset. They sit nice and flush no rubbing probs when making a turn. When I got home i noticed that they used wheel spacers. Are there any disadvantages with using them. I'm assuming they used them so that the spokes clear the brake calipers. the space between the spokes and calipers is very close to the size of the spacer prob a 5mm spacer.

Not really. No problems. However, most wheels have the correct offset available. If they ordered the incorrect offset and gave you spacers as a cheap and quick fix, I'd have them get the correct spacing instead. Check with the maker to see if they make the correct offset. They ordered the incorrect offset for mine and they had to send them back and get the right one.
