Just my opinion but...

I saw a Black SE with a bull bar on it and I personally thought what the hell, why... This truck is too large to use offroad to justify a bull bar and haveing one on a street use truck is just plain rediculous..

I do own a Jeep that I use off road quite a bit and have replaced the bumpers with armored heavy duty ones but they serve a purpose. The front holds a winch and lights and the rear my spare and hi-lift. Plus they both provide recovery points.

I guess if you are going to use it off road or could come in contact with a Bull of some form or fashion I guess it could be useful but I still dont like em. Plus from experience if you get in a wreck be it with a vehicle or a bull they typically cause more damage than they prevent.

Now an ARB full replacement bumper would be sweet... :D

One other thing, mine barely fits in the garage as it is, I doubt it would fit with a bull bar on the front of it sticking out another 9 inches. I guess I need to build a bigger garage...

It's all about looking good. Hell I want to eventually go to 22" rims, does that mean I need to cut a rap album first? :D

Sizewise I think you have a good point. The shelving in the garage may not allow the Bull Bar.

I guess it all comes down to why you want it. What function do you want it to serve. Is it just for dress or do you need it for protection. Will you mount a winch on it or just protect the front end from the occasional buggy in the wrong place in the WalMart parking lot. LOL

From what I've heard the Westin won't offer much protection, it's all for looks. They are thin enough that they arrive dented just in the shipping process. I do like the look on the titan and have yet to see it on an armada.

The factory brush gaurd imo looks like crap, I don't like the way it wraps around the headlights. It makes the front look like a wasp? just my opinion I sure some people like it.

Yeah I've heard that the Westin is a POS for anything but looks (or shopping carts, lol), but I know I won't be taking my 2wd anywhere that I'll need a winch.. I can dream, tho...

Do brush guards really do anything? I've seen a hella lot around where I live, but they look like they would do more damage than protection.

The one I had on my Xterra was by Rhino. It looked like it could take a good impact...luckily I never tested it. I have read though that they may cause your airbags not to go off.

I sure agree with this. Most of what I see on the road will cause more damage in a light impact. Instead of just damage to the bumper you could damage the hood, fenders and those very expensive headlights. The same goes for those dinky little tail light "guards".

 Great, I didn't even think about the tail light guards.. and I was about to purchase some.. now I have the extra damage to think about.

oh well, worse they can do is leave the back lookin ugly. if that happens, that just means ill be able to beat the crap outa my babys body without feeling bad

I had one and removed it (and sold it)

Here's what happened to a fellow xterra owner going under 10 mph into a small ditch (offroading) with a tumbleweed guard.

Instead of just a slightly dented bumper, the pics tell it all....both fenders, most of the bumper, AND the hood. This was over $1500 to fix.

Just so we're all on the same page:

Bull Bar is this (functional):

Brush Guard is this (cosmetic):

I'd love to get an ARB bumper, but I don't think ARB, (or TJM, or anyone for that matter) even makes one yet for the Armada.
Agreed. I own a 2000 Trooper that I've offroaded a lot down in NC and NJ. Probably replacing it with an Armada and will be looking for an ARB style bumper for it. I like that custom one off listed here but can't find any info for it.
