My '04 Armada went in for service yesterday with the break issue and Rt. 23 AutoMall in NJ told me that my breaks are dangerously low, need immediate attention but they can't replace them till they get parts in and my name has been added to their long list of other people waiting. They anticipate they should be able to fix mine in aprox. 2 mos...so basically they have told me to drive my unsafe car for 2 mos.

Nice response, huh? I called Nissan and complained today and will be sending them and the dealership a nasty letter tomorrow.

Are other people waiting this long for replacements and has their dealership given them a car rental or how are they compansating you?

Thanks and regards.

Elyse,
I took mine in Wed. was told in the morning that I had to just get the resurfacing because 6 Armada's were in front of me to get the permanent fixes as they came in. Well they called me in the afternoon to pick up my truck and told me that they had a couple kits on the shelf so they just went ahead and put the permanent fix on for me. This is the first time I took it in for the brakes. Guess it's time to move to FL. I guess we have less Armadas and Titans down here.

I took my 05 armada to fontana Nissan for the usual brake broblems and they resurfaced the rotors and put new pads and told me that they have ordered the permenant brake fix kit and should get here at the dealer in about two month, two weeks later they called me to tell the kit is in and to bring in my car.

Good luck

PS . you may want to check other dealers

Change Dealers

Elyse,

I would change dealers if I were you. I had my name on the list but when I took my truck in for a resurface my brakes were deemed to be almost unsafe. I immediately jumped to the front of the list and the dealer had a kit for my truck in 2 days. They (dealer) cant knowingly let you drive an unsafe vehicle.

Wow small world, I grew up in Bloomingdale and went to Butler High School. Route 23 auto mall has got a bad rep, my brother got screwed by them on a deal a while ago. Re: your brakes, I ran into the same thing and the dealer was going to put old pads on until the new ones came in. There is no way they can expect you to drive an unsafe vehicle, call Nissan and demand they set you up with a rental or go to another dealer.

I grew up at High Crest Lake. I never went Rt 23 Automall but I'd look somewhere else if I were you. There was one in Ramsey on 17 that was pretty good if I recall. Good luck ;)

Old thread. If you haven't gotten them replaced, try now. Nissan's parts supply has caught up. ;)

Has anyone, after having the brakes & rotors redone, had their antilock sensor go out? My car has been in the shop for three weeks waiting on this part. Apparently there are also two other Armadas waiting for the same part.

Seems suspious to me? This part went out the day after they replaced my rotors. Which by the way took 2 months for the parts to come in. Now this anti-lock part has been recalibrated (??) because they were getting a lot of complaints. So the part was on a national backorder--supposedly after a lot of compalining, I will get my Armada back tomorrow.

I love my car and am very disappointed in these brake problems. Someone give me some encouragement that this will be the end!!

You are the first ABS problem I've heard. I haven't had any problems since the upgrade and haven't heard any problems on the titan sites either. Sounds like you got a case of installer malfunction. Changing rotors and pads should have nothing to do with ABS. As long as they fix it, get it done and then I'd go somewhere else for service. ;)
