I have to say I am finding all these positive reviews dubious when for years all the major car mags/sites were blasting this thing that it was terrible, outdated and got "horrendous" gas mileage (even when the MPG were 1 or 2 below their "top" pick).

Maybe I'm paranoid, but is it possible these people are getting incentives from Nissan to help clear out the current model in hopes to free space for the redesign or get people onboard with the platform?

I've never driven a Y62, but one of the major complains I read here is the suspension causes a lot of body roll. Even in the video I could see it bouncing like it was riding on marshmallows lol.

For the V8 thing - a lot of the support of it seems to be emotional. I personally would really love to have the same power and better MPGs. I get that a twin-turbo V6 isn't the same but I have a 500 HP TT V6 in my BMW and the thing is a monster and would welcome similar in the Armada (assuming the low end torque doesn't suffer).

Anyway, forgive my rant but these vids makes me want to go buy a 2023 outgoing model which I'm sure I'll regret once the redesign comes out!

 

BMW only makes Inline 6 engines which can make huge ammount of powers with great exhaust sound (not the V8 rumble though) and smoothly because they're the best engines for balance. V6 engines can make good power but it always feels like they're about to explode because of the vibrations (wen compared to V8's or Inline 6's).

They are not an aggressive company like that at all. 😋
I belive it's just that the toyota fanboyism has been wearing thin and people are coming around.

I knew the redesign was coming but I bought a '23 anyway.
I am not destitute but I am not made of money either.
There is no way I can buy an Armada 4wd in the upcoming redesign for what I paid for this 23 S 4WD.

I too am tempted by the discounts on the current model but I’m thinking long term. My 2007 is up and running now after the suspension work (upper control arm replaced) but it rides like a tank and a smooth ride is appealing.

 

here's the thing, maybe here in America The armada could be compared to sequoia because it lacks features and the ruggedness of the Patrol, but in other continents the Patrol is a direct competitor of the Land Cruiser.

 

I used to say Armada and Sequioa were competitors based on price.
But the current armada has no less ruggedness than the global patrol.
decontented suspension does not mean less ruggedness.

I would bet a months salary durability for the Y62 armada will be better than for the new Sequioa

I can confirm that the new Patrol willl not launch until September of 2024 as MY 2025. since armada's are launched a little after the patrol I am going to say that the New Y63 armada should release sometime in the first Half of 2025

Thats great.
No wonder with the 2023 selling relatively well, that Nissan feels no urgency to transiton to the Y63, at least in the US market.
And thats a good thing for us, as a larger/longer the Y62 run is the more aftermarket support.

I can confirm that the new Patrol willl not launch until September of 2024 as MY 2025. since armada's are launched a little after the patrol I am going to say that the New Y63 armada should release sometime in the first Half of 2025
