gang,
I was wondering if any of you who have installed fenderwell flares would be so kind as to post the width of the flares beyond the factory fender, along with the manufacturer of the flares? I am currently running Nitto Terra Grapplers 275/70/18 on factory wheels. While the fit is perfect, the tires extend exactly to the edge of the factory fenders. An additional 2 inches of coverage would greatly abate the mud and dirt slinging.

Thanks in advance for the assist.

I have wanted to do the 08 flares on my 07. From what I can tell, the 08 front flares from the Titan LE would fit our older style fender/bumper since the new Titan front end is structurally unchanged. Also, it looks like the rear flares from the 08 Armada would match up as expected.

My tires extend to the edge of the fenders, so just the stock flares would trim it out perfectly.

Has anyone done this with either '08' or '09' flares? I've looked at it, and by the naked eye it looks like we should be able to fit these flares on 07 and older model Armadas.

As I pointed out a couple of posts ago, the new Titan LE with the fender flares still uses the same bumper/front end that the '07 and earlier Aramada has. So, you would need the '08 or '09 Titan LE front flares and the '08 or '09 Armada rear flares. This would enable '07 and earlier Aramadas to have the new Nissan fender flares. I haven't tested it, but on close inspection at the dealership this should work.

2008 Fender Flares on 2005 LE

After watching this forum for years and searching, I have found several posts saying that the 2008 rear fender flares should fit on a 2005 LE, and the the 2008 Titan flares should fit the front. But I have never seen or confirmed that anybody has actually completed this mod. If you have can you let me know how it went and provide pictures? If not I might have to be the guinea pig and try it. My co-worker has a 08 mada and rubs it in my face whenever the wife lets him bring it to work. It looks like the back is simple and on the front you would need to drill holes in the fender, not a big deal for me. The rear quarter panels appear unchanged, although the dealer tells me they have different part numbers for different years. Also, I believe my mudguards would need to be modified or replaced. Thoughts please.

Guess I get to try it out

I placed an order with Fontana for 1 yes 1 rear fender flare for a 2008 Armada, If it fits then I will buy the other one, and I will also buy 1 front fender flare off of a 2008 Titan LE, and then test it out. I don't think there is going to be an issue but I am minimizing my losses if there is one. I will let you all know how it goes.

Great, let us know if they fit. I've been wanting to do this.

Awesome. I have always wanted to have fender flares. A few years ago I even bought the QX56 flares but when I brought them to my bodyshop he talked me out of mounting them. He thought it was a bad idea to drill and he did not think the 3M tape would hold. I sold them to another member and his truck came out awesome. I know there was some trimming involved which is always scary.

If you mod works and is easier, I am all over it!! Keep us posted!!

Looks like a perfect fit

I just pulled the rear flare out of the box over the weekend. I removed my mudflaps an held it up to the vehicle and it appears to be a perfect fit. I could not press it up completely as there are 7 barbs sticking out of the inside of the flare. Yes that means that you would need to drill 7 holes in the quarter panel, there are special clips that the barbs attach to, so I believe you would drill the hole stick the clips in the quarter panel, then press the flare onto vehicle. It also utilizes the screws and clips inside the wheel well to help secure the flare, I have not had a chance to see if the existing holes line up, plus it has a strip of 3m tape at the top inside of the flare a snug fit. It appears that if you add the mudflaps you will need new rear flaps from a 2008. but I have not confirmed that yet.

I need to make a template to mark where to drill the holes in the quarter panel, want to get it right, although if you were to screw up a bit, it will be hidden under the flare, and these are not gonna come off. Also, the clip is a bit of an oval shaped body, not round, so I need to decide what drill bit to use or just make it a tight fit and push the clip in.

I need to order the passenger side flare today and get them painted up, then I will work on drilling the holes and mounting the flare. This is going to be a bit of work obviously and I am in no hurry, but I will try to post pictures of the flares so you can see exactly what you are dealing with.

That is the plan for now

I expect to go with the 2008 Titan LE front flares, I am going to my buddys house to look over his 2008 Armada real close first though. I have looked at it at work when his wife drives it over and looks the same as mine. I know the bumper is different, but I am not convinced that the fender is different, as I also believe the Titan and Armada fenders are the same from 2004 through at least 2008, this is still unconfirmed. So I need to get out a measuring tape to be sure. This is not a cheap mod and the parts are not returnable, so I need to be sure. On the Bushwackers I am not sure how they would fit, I like them but they were more aggressive than what I was looking for, if I had the Titan I think I would go with the Bushwackers though, because I would have a bigger lift and bigger tires and want to stop the spray.

Glad to know that I am not the only one interested in this

For those of us that have been around the forum for several years, this was a pretty popular topic back in the day, lots of people converting QX56 Fender flares to the Mada. I know they wanted to differentiate the vehicles, but I always felt that was something that should have been on the Mada. Anyway Nissan must have listened and finally added these, so many are lucky as they don't need to worry about this. But my 2005 only has 40K miles on it, so I am finally getting my flares too. lol

Here are some pictures I took, something I always wanted to see other than the ones that were installed already.

Just a note the green you see is tape that I put on the pegs so that I would not scratch my paint when holding it up to my vehicle. There is a total of 7, but I took the tape off of one of them to take a picture, but it wat to blurry. Anyway wanted to make sure you know there are 7 holes you get to drill into your Mada on each side. And that is just the rears. :crikey:
