Jeez - slow down! Stellar addition w/ the antenna. You're making great additions to an already solid platform. Impressive!
Cannot, need the vehicle ready for June/July so I can take her up to the mountains with the kids. Project is very much in a rush state right now though, that's for sure.Jeez - slow down! Stellar addition w/ the antenna. You're making great additions to an already solid platform. Impressive!
Yeah - I hear ya. We have lots of Armadas and Titans in TX but it's still hard to find anyone to work on them - and the aftermarket in the states is near nothing. AUS gets all the love with the Patrol. I needed lower shock extensions to accommodate the lift I have and finding some support was sparse and expensive. Right now, I have a very annoying rattle in the back that I'm trying to track down. I thought it was the hitch pin, but that's not it. It might be the air-ride sensor. I can't find anything else that's loose, not the chain for the spare tire, brake lines, e-brake, etc. I'll find it...Cannot, need the vehicle ready for June/July so I can take her up to the mountains with the kids. The only thing slowing me down really is Alldogs Offroad... they still haven't shipped my lift yet, which is slightly annoying being as I ordered it at the start of last week.
Snorkel arrived last night, ordered the step drill and rivet tool needed to mount that this weekend - and being as its from Aus, instructions and tools used are in MM and not inches. But, new tools to add to the pile, and that snorkel is probably not the last thing I'll order from AUS.
The thing I'm struggling with now? Trying to find a damn custom fab worker to make me a winch plate to mount a winch behind the stock bumper. People just want to work on Toyota's around here.
I think that adjustment was removed from the '21+ model year. The auto leveling sensor is not adjustable on mine, it's a fixed piece. There is a small amount of adjustment room on the two bolts that secure the sensor to the frame, but not on this bracket.Did you exdent it like this?
Nar, I don't see that on mine either like, CBEllis.Did you exdent it like this?
Mojo - if you do anything with the rear subframe (i.e. separate it from the frame w/ a spacer) just know that there is a crossmember that will have to be notched out near the front of the gas tank, behind the transmission. I found out the hard way and put a little perfect ring around my driveshaft, just a nice beauty mark...Nar, I don't see that on mine either like, CBEllis.
My lift will be here tomorrow - so this rear air ride will be ripped out on Monday next week and installed along with the snorkel. Couldn't get around to doing it this weekend due to family commitments so booked her in for next week.
Finding a fab guy is still my struggle. When I find one, they are booked up until September - I really don't wanna wait that long. I will not be defeated!
ah, thanks for the heads up. I think the only thing I'm doing with the rear is deleting the air ride and replacing it with springs and a new shock. I wont be touching the frame just yet.Mojo - if you do anything with the rear subframe (i.e. separate it from the frame w/ a spacer) just know that there is a crossmember that will have to be notched out near the front of the gas tank, behind the transmission. And here's a pic of the air ride actuator on the '21+ model years:

I don't even know what the warnings mean, haha. So not even sure where to start looking. I foresee black electrical tape covering those warning lights soonAny of those warning have anything to do with the camera system in the windshield just above the rearview mirror? I hate all the nannies. My daughters Rogue did the same thing and I had to dry and clean all the sensors, seems like none of them like inclement weather, rain/snow/ice/mud/dust, etc.
Thanks @CBEllis. I ordered the Alldogs Offroad Fox suspension setup with hopes, it would be enough lift. It promises a better ride quality with 1.5" lift but less travel in comparison to the Bilstein setup as per Chad at ADO Coop. Those Guys were pretty nice to work with. Will share some photos after install.@Randeep Dhillon, those are some chunky looking shoes on that truck. Looks good - I think a modest 1.5-2" lift with some spring spacers would round it out perfectly. I like the wheels, tires, and color combos you've got going. Good work-

Absolutely love the threads on here as it is super helpful for everyone. Thanks to all the participating members!!
@CBEllis - Very clean looking Armada and love the high lift!
@Mojo - I am loving the stance and glad to hear, it surpassed your expectations on the handling and ride quality.Alright, took a little longer than expected.
I'll get better pictures over the weekend, but here are pics taken from a similar angle.

It's 2inches if not a little taller. I am 1 degree positive camber, so right now, technically out of spec (0-1neg). But not enough to do any damage. I'll be getting it realigned next week again after she's had time to settle - which is what I think the issue is.
The ride. The ride is flawless now, this is how it should have came from stock. The car is heavy enough to allow the springs to compress to still give it that comfy feel when flying down the highway, it is not jarring whatsoever. It all changes when I go round corners though, she is flat as a pancake now. No body roll at all, no wish washy feeling, no "holy shit I'm going to throw up on this boat ride" from my kids anymore (lots of mountain roads here), it's just a nice drive, not a sports car, but not a Cadillac. These are the main reasons for not getting the Fox shocks. They allow for silly amounts of body roll due to the awesome compression they have for flying over bumps at rapid speeds. Not what I plan on doing. However, please let me know @Randeep Dhillon how you like them!
These shocks wont be on my rig in two years time as the vehicle will be completely different. I think I'm going to put a Titan Pro4X rear axle underneath as I want/need the lockers, and after reaching out to companies in Australia and Dubai, converting the underneath to a Patrol to allow for ARB lockers will set me back 15-20k, lots of parts and labor needed. The Titan axle will fit no problems while costing less than 8K, so unless something changes my mind this summer after taking her off road, that's the plan for now.
This weekend I'll be starting on the false floor to hide the secondary battery and rear draw setup for the car. Lots of inspiration to take from all the Patrol Y62s out there.
